DescriptionHoliday home Smugglers' Cottage is a traditional end-terrace cottage in the village of Marske-by-the-Sea in Yorkshire.The cottage can sleep four people in two bedrooms which are made up of a king-size double and a twin as well as a family bathroom. The rest of the cottage is made up of a kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and electric stove. To the outside of the property is off road parking for two cars and a front patio garden with furniture. Situated in a lovely area, Smugglers' Cottage is great for a holiday at any time of the year.
Accomodation Details Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with TV, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area and electric stove.
Area Marske-by-the-Sea is a small, coastal village with long, sandy beaches. Today it has a selection of local shops and pubs, which cater for all the family, plus the safe, sandy beaches and fishing boats are an enticing attraction. Places of interest nearby include Captain Cook's birthplace, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. Within easy reach of this quaint village is a horse riding centre, the stunning scenery of the North York Moors, through which runs a steam railway line, and the numerous pretty inland villages and fishing villages including Staithes and Runswick Bay.
Region The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

There is nothing worse than being away anywhere and not having a restful place to stay.. I have stayed in many places where at the end of a busy day you return to sleep or eat in a place which is much harder work than being at home! Smugglers cottage is the most comfortable, well equipped and well situated (for our purpose) I have ever stayed. Easy kitchen. Beautiful bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very comfortable settees - so often you cannot be comfortable in the evenings. Not so here. Real home from home. It was a pleasure to be there and I would not even have minded if the weather had kept us inside all week. If ever we head that way again that is the property I would wish to stay in. Lovely lovely cottage and I cannot compliment the owners enough.

The location was great - just off the beach.. We were fortunate enough to have good weather so enjoyed walks to both Redcar and Saltburn along the beautiful beaches.
The welcome pack was a lovely idea esp vitally as we had forgotten to bring coffee and the sachets carried us till we bought some locally.
Also ogether a great experience and would definitely recommend this cottage.

This was our first stay at Smuggler's Cottage but it will not be our last.. The cottage was cosy, warm and well equipped to a high standard. The welcome items and local support and visit from the owner, Julia were much appreciated. We will definitely be returning next year but hope it will be sooner than that.

The cottage was excellent.. We had a small issue with the boiler and the own was extremely helpful and a plumber arrived promptly and rectified the issue. It was very comfortable felt like home from home. The welcome package was really appreciated. I will definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends and will be hoping to return with my grandson

It's a beautiful cottage.. Ideal location for exploring and walking the coast. The cottage is in immaculate condition, very comfortable clean and had everything needed for a self catering holiday. Marske is a nice village lots of amenities within walking distance. Would certainly recommend it.
