Situated in a stunning location, The Old Chapel , is an ideal place for a wonderful holiday at any time of the year.

Area The market town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly general market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers’ markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent countryside for walkers and cyclists.
Region The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

The Old Chapel has been very well renovated to make the most of the space whilst retaining its charm.. There’s a huge amount to do in the area with the coast, the North York Moors national park (including steam railway) and York not far away, The local pub serves high quality food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we loved the contemporary design within the old building.. Gwendolyn had made us very welcome with a lovely welcome pack and the information she had given prior to our visit. It is a good location for exploring all that East Yorkshire has to offer with the great addition of a local pub with good food. We have already recommended to family and friends to holiday here.

Beautiful cottage with a well equiped kitchen very clean and the underfloor heating was lovely and toasty considering it was February and snowy outside.. Great Habton is a good location near to Pickering and Malton but out in the countryside.

Slight problem with heating one late afternoon/evening, was put right by owner following day whilst we were out, came back and was all fine.. Perfect location to explore York and the moors, had a wonderful holiday, thanks.

This cottage is all and more.. The wow factor hits you as soon as you open the front door ! The village is quite and truly relaxing but also a great base to travel and explore the wonderful places nearby.

The old chapel is converted to a very high standard.. It is equipped with everything you will need & it is all very good quality. The welcome basket was a real treat - the cake was delicious, & the coloured eggs were quite a talking point. The coffee machine was a bonus - lovely. The nearby pub serves tasty food, but you do have to book as it gets very busy at times. The weather was not too kind, but we did manage some walking. The walk to & from Malton, via Ryton, is enjoyable - very little traffic. Plenty of food & drink outlets to choose from before the walk back. Would definitely recommend this beautiful let!

The owner of the property was really helpful on the phone prior to the holiday and during our stay.. Had a wonderful time in Yorkshire. The property is lovely, tucked away in a quiet part of a small village. Had everything you could need and the owner had added a few lovely touches that made our stay even better than we had hoped for. That good we have already booked again for next Summer.

The Old Chapel is an ideal location, in a quiet tranquil village, for exploring North Yorkshire.. Picturesque Thornton le Dale and Helmsley are close by, as are the market towns of Malton and Pickering, the southern terminus of The North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Other nearby attractions are Castle Howard and the walled garden at Scampstom. The seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are within easy travelling distance.

Having always wanted to stay in a converted church/chapel, we were delighted to find The Old Chapel available at the time of the Malton Food Festival.. The Old Chapel was superb! A beautiful conversion with high quality fittings and finish and very comfortable. Its location was also great for access to local activities and sights. Gwendolyn was especially helpful with tips and recommendations for the local area; the goodies awaiting us on our arrival were most welcome (and delicious) after a long day of travelling. All in all, a wonderful place for a great holiday. Would love to go back!

The cottage owner, Gwendoline Bills, was extremely helpful and and gave me a very helpful phone call before departing.. She asked if all was OK shorty after arrival and it was reassuring to know that she was always on hand (without being intrusive). The conversion job on The Old Chapel was outstanding and I loved staying there.

The old chapel is certainly a 5star property and deserves the highest praise.. Once you open the front door it instantly tells you that. Quality furniture and fittings along with quality bedding etc. A lovely quite area with a very nice local pub. Shall stay again very soon.
