The market town of Malton has a weekly market, a range of amenities and a cinema. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, perfect for walkers and cyclists. The coastline is 24 miles away with Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington, whilst York is 18 miles away

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

The Bothy was ideal for our holiday.. Unexpectedly near to my brothers house that he was renting at the same time. So that was great. Brownies on arrival were much appreciated and gave the right sugar hit. All amenities for an easy holiday. Thank you Rob and Claire Jenny May

The accommodation was booked at the last minute and we are grateful for your help in sorting it all out at short notice.. The communication was excellent as was the customer service we received. As for the accommodation that was even better than we could have imagined - spotlessly clean, flowers and chocolate brownie on arrival and very well equipped. An excellent base from which to explore the Howardian Hills and North Yorkshire. The owners were helpful and friendly too. 10/10

The Bothy is beautiful both to look at on the outside and the lovely comfortable inside.. We were greeted by the owners who were very welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this cottage as it is in a very quiet location and is within easy access to the Moors and east coast. My husband and l both agreed it was one of the best cottages we have stayed in and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. We would go there again.

What a superb holiday cottage! Immaculately clean and very well equipped, with a really thoughtful welcome pack on arrival. The cottage has been recently renovated to a very high spec, with loads of room for us and our (big) dog! The cottage is a great base for exploring the surrounding picturesque little villages and north yorks moors. The owners, Claire and Rob, couldn’t be more accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside! Thank you!!

Unfortunately very low water pressure meant the shower and taps were a trickle, this was rectified.. However felt that this should have been checked beforehand. Very little in the way of cleaning materials, ie 1 j cloth and bottle of washing up liquid, no paper towels, bleach or additional bin bags Not enough crockery or cutlery for 2 meaning dishwasher had to be used each day ( had to ask for more dishwasher tabs) Good location for sightseeing, unfortunately would not return.
