This property is full of potential, an may have been fabulous in the past, but is in need of money being spent on it.
The cleanliness of the property on the surface was OK, until you start to live in the space. Windows and Window sils were dirty, I found a large empty packet of tyrell crisps under the sofa, whilst hovering( we don't eat this brand). We had to ask for cleaning products and was told they were not usually provided, due to health and safety.Even though dish washer tablets were available, in an easy to reach cupboard.
There were sweat marks on the cushions. The outside furniture was growing mould and the parasol had more holes than a sieve. No sun loungers.
The WiFi was poor, an required Internet boosters... these only cost £20, yet the owners seemed reluctantwhen approached to resolve this issue. The pool table in the game room was designed for small children, an is not suitable for an adults game. You will need to bring your own chalk and pool cue tips, almost of the cues were damaged. The games room is full of cobwebs and has various styles of ivy growing into the property from the outside.
There were several plug sockets and light bulbs not working and what is the point in having a rear garden seating area, if the only outside light doesn't work.. this is all about attention to detail and should have been checked.
Though there are many issues with with property, there are a few good things. On our second to last day while staying there, two of us went clay pigeon shooting which was done very well. The tuition was very good and you could tell that he was very experienced with a shotgun and was exceedingly helpful with atuning our skills throughout the session.
The inside swimming pool was also very good as it was nice and warm, as well as the fact, that the room containing the pool was warm and himid which made it so that when you get out of the pool you don't get hit with freezing cold air.
The tennis courts were difficult to find at first but are connected to the house via a gate that stops people who are staying at other properties on the farm from entering our premises. The court itself had some cracks through the tarmac but it didn't affect our games very much. The metal fence around the court did have some large holes around the bottom of the fence which allowed our tennis balls to roll through and into the bushes. Although, the holes were around the size of the head of a tennis racket so you could get your balls back relatively easily
Overall, the location was quiet and scenic, though to pay £4000 for a week, I expected and have received in the past, at other House rentals a higher quality of property than what was presented.
