WOW, the photos really don’t do The Hayloft any justice - its huge ! Mark, the owner, was really helpful both in the days before we arrived and once we got there. Let us settle in, then came and checked that all was ok, had we found everything etc.
The property is very large, it is after-all a converted hayloft, but the sense of space hits you as you walk in. All the rooms are very spacious, even the two en-suites. Having a bath as well as a 2 showers was luxury after a day on the peaks. The decor is very fitting for the building, lots of bare wood and stonework. The furniture matches the style, large plain wood pieces that just look like they belong there.
The kitchen had all we needed, the icebox on the fridge is standard size, but with Morrisons only 5 minutes away it didn’t matter. The electric cooker is a range style, with plenty of hobs as well as a warming drawer.
Yes, it is a converted hayloft, there are a few cobwebs up in the rafters, you do find insects outside, you can hear the sheep in the fields, the lanes are narrow, but thats some of the many reason why this place is so great - its not a hotel, its a place to have a great holiday and make memories. Not to mention ‘Poppy’ the sheepdog, whom our son wanted to try and sneak home with us.......
A few older reviews had mentioned about lack of cleanliness, we didn’t find this at all. Everywhere was very clean and tidy on arrival. We spoke to the owners about this, and they told us that they had changed cleaners a while ago. Nothing to worry about.
We had a superb time and would love to return again.
