We were very pleased and impressed with our stay at Ardeevin Cottage in Buxton. It was definitely a home away from home! We rented through Sykes Cottages and had no problems with our booking. Buxton is a great place to stay and a central base for visiting the dales and peaks.
The cottage was modern, very clean, well appointed and with some lovely touches and a thoughtful welcome pack from the owners on arrival.
It was nice to have a separate kitchen/dinning area and not have it crammed into the sitting room area like some cottages.
Loved the main bedroom with the beautiful feature pendent light and comfy king size bed and a great shower in the wet room to start the day! The owners had
As there was only two of us we did not need the use of the twin bed room, but is was a cosy looking room.
The cottage is in a good location and is a short walk to some shops. Buxton town centre, the Opera House, the Crescent, the Pavilions and Gardens are further down the road along with a selection of bars and restaurants. The Lonestar was one of our favourite places to eat and our favourite pub was The Old Sun Inn, being just out of the door and across the road form the cottage!
At the time of writing the Sykes website shows off road parking. This is not the case and we have mentioned it to Sykes. The owners description is for parking outside the cottage. This is opposite to the property and is on a first come first served basis. During our one week stay there were only two occasions where we could not park outside the property. We are familiar with parts of Buxton, so it was not a problem to find an alternative place. The owners have kindly left some helpful parking suggestions in their information pack should guests need them
All in all a great stay and a great time in Buxton and the surrounding areas.
Would we go back to to Ardeevin cottage again…… Definitely!
