Area
The South Cornwall community of Par boasts a wonderful a dog- and family-friendly beach on St. Austell Bay that is sandy and open all year long, ideal for walks along the shore and paddling in the waves. The famed Eden Project, which can be accessed on foot via the lush Luxulyan Valley, is approximately 2.5 miles from the the village, so you can check out the coastal scenery before visiting this exciting site. The Gribbin Peninsula, which is located between Par and the charming town of Fowey, offers stunning views of the nearby coastline and is a great place to go for a walk. Numerous locations close to Par have ties to novelist Daphne du Maurier, including the little cove at Polkerris that is home to the Rashleigh Arms and gets its name from a local landowner whose home the author frequently visited. The China Clay Country Park, Charlestown Shipwreck Museum, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a few of the local attractions. An excellent spot to discover South Cornwall's rich history and gorgeous coastline.
