Well decorated. Good sized rooms downstairs and very handy to have two toilets. Shower was very disappointing - not much more than a trickle and difficult to get the temperature right. Blind in second floor bedroom needs to be a blackout blind, or similar, as current one filters all the light through. Good location and handy to have parking too.

This rental property is perfect. The cleanest property I have ever rented. The owner has gone to Great depths to keep the house covid friendly and, for covid hermits like us, it was reassuring and perfect. Pros Amazingly clean Thoughtful owner with some excellent pre arrival information Good location (for walks or days out) Parking space was a big advantage Kitchen was well equipped Beds were very comfortable There was a powerful hairdryer at the property Teens loved having their own floor/bedrooms. Cons None Tip As with all rental properties, previous occupants haven't managed to put the bin out properly. I therefore managed to get our rubbish in and placed the bin beside another in the street in the hope it would be emptied. So if staying, make sure to put it somewhere it will be emptied. Don't take suitcases! I had one but the stairs are quite steep so I'd suggest travel bags. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. I loved being able to walk into the village and also able to visit many places in all directions! A great property. Well recommended.

I think that for us as a family the house worked really well, We found that the rooms were all a generous size.. I small improvement/ minor criticism the shower is electric and although it does the job a properly plumbed in one would be a great improvement. The cleanliness was exceptional as were the covid precautions. Karen maintained great communication from the time of booking right through to the end of our stay and the house is a credit to her we would definitely book again.

The house was lovely and comfortable with lots of space and everything that we needed for our group of 4 plus one pooch.. It's a perfect spot to access the village of Thornton le Dale and Dalby Forest and only a short bus journey to nearby Pickering. A perfect base for us to travel on the North York Moors Railway for the day. Both of the pubs in the village do good food and drinks. The complimentary food and drink at the house was much appreciated :) We'd certainly recommend this cottage to other people wanting to stay in the area!

Stayed for a week in February. Very spacious house over 3 floors. Central heating and wood burning stove. Well equipped kitchen, the only thing missing is a washing machine. Has a dishwasher and all other amenities. Comfortable beds. Huge bathroom, shower a bit slow draining but not an issue. Beautiful village and lots to do in surrouding area, Pickering and Malton are lovely. A short 30 - 40 minute drive to the coast. Dalby forest well worth a visit. Great pubs in village. Really good bus service runs through village from Leeds to Whitby, but also other buses to Scarborough and area if you don't have a car. Lovely welcome pack provided at the house too.

The pictures on the website disguise how big the property actually is.. The house is very spacious and the owners leave a generous welcome pack which is lovely. The village is very pretty and everyone is very friendly. Great holiday location as you can take in the moors and the coast of Yorkshire. We will be back.

We had a home from home experience the house was beautifully set out, very clean and well equipped with all the basics you would need.. Lovely location set in a very quiet village however was centrally located for easy excess to all the seaside locations. Welcome pack that the owner left for us was a very thoughtful idea. Would highly recommend this property and hopefully will be rebooking to go back again.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable.. The welcome pack was great. When I contacted the owner about the keys and asked if we could arrive earlier she said she would check with the cleaner (Kristy). She rang me and said that would be OK and that Kristy would meet us there and take our bags up to our rooms. I had told her previously that we were four ladies in our 80s. We had a wonderful time - the owner rang us during the week to see if everything was OK and said if we would like Kristy would come and take our bags down stairs when we were ready to leave (we said we could manage). Everything possible was done to ensure we had a great time and we are looking forward to go again in the not too distant future

We love this cottage because it is beautiful and clean also a very nice welcome box of goodies.. Perfect location for our cycling and walking in Dalby forest. The owner easy to contact and very helpful. Also I like being able to get in touch with Sykes cottage and having help immediately. Which I had to do on this holiday and you were great. Thank you.

If taking young children or a dog there isn't a garden as such its an area to the front which is open to the street so not secure which we found restricting especially in the hot weather we couldn't let our children or the dog..

From initial contact to arrival everything went smoothly and the information provided was spot on.. An excellent and spacious property in an ideal location for getting to York, Whitby, Scarborough , Castle Howard, Pickering and Helmsley. A couple of minor problems with my car being almost too long to fit into the designated parking space but ample on road parking so not a major issue. Also previous client may have taken /mislaid remote for DVD player but with plenty of World cup football on TV did not miss it. We had to cut the holiday short due to illness but the few days we had were great. Would I return-- absolutely.
