Fantastic clean, well equipped place to stay.. Owners were very nice and helpfull and gave us a warm welcome. Everything was on hand in the cottage. Would have given it at least a 9 but of the very poor Wifi I just go for a 8. It's stated that there's Wifi and that isn't a lie but it is of a poor standard. Slow and some times nothing.

We had the most wonderful two weeks at the Wild Duck Lodge.. The property is well equipped and immaculately clean. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome by the owners Mr and Mrs Hennessey who really are such a delightful couple. We really appreciated the generous welcome tray and our two children were spoilt with treats! The Lodge is situated in the heart of the west Lancashire countryside and there is so much to see and do in the area! 10 out of 10, we won't hesitate to return!

We arrived at our accommodation to a warm welcome from the owners and we were shown around.. The property was spotless and lovely. There was a small welcoming tray with tea and biscuits that was very nice. The property was very well situated for everything we wanted to do and the local shops and pubs were within a 10 minutes drive. Overall, we were extremely happy with the property and would definitely stay there again if we visited this area again.

We arrived after a 6hr trip on the M6 to a spotless bungalow in a lovely spot, welcomed by Gillian and Michael,we found everything we needed, very comfy beds, large bath and shower room, huge kitchen/diner.. We had a great week visiting around this beautiful part of the country, close to Southport-Blackpool-Liverpool which is great, especially the Albert Dock area.Lake District is not far away.View from the bungalow across fields,we saw rabbits-pheasant-hedgehogs-numerous birds including owls-bats at night, harmless but fascinating-Gillian and Mike are great hosts and willing to help in any way.Best I can say is that I would certainly go back for another visit.Highly recommended.

Unobtrusive hosts and an idyllic location, the 2 bed bungalow was so relaxing and well placed for visits to various attractions and also the coast.. Preston not recommended due to bus lane confusion (council money maker). also the local wildlife/birds are fantastic and very friendly as well.

We LOVED staying at Wild Duck Lodge.. Our hosts Gill and Mike are the friendliest people ever and gave us a lovely welcome pack. We arrived in December and was so happy that the cottage was so cosy and warm. The cottage is a lot bigger than the photos suggest. It was immaculately clean and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back and recommend VERY highly. Thank you so much - our family holiday was the best Christmas we have ever had!!! The Poole family

Firstly, the reminder of the key collection email with contact number, directions etc.. .. was helpful as I had stored all the information on my computer and could not access it. When we pulled up to the cottage, we were greeted with a warm smile and a handshake. We were then shown around the property and given all the relevant information. Being a little OCD I usually spend the first hour of my holiday cleaning but not this time. The cottage had a lovely subtle smell of bleach, every surface, floor and door was spotless. There wasn't any restrictions on what we could and couldn't do during our stay, as we have had on previous holidays with different companies. My 5 year old son loved it, as soon as he saw the Hennessey's he wanted to tell them about all the different things he had seen in their garden. They were a lovely kindly couple, who acknowledged my son and listened to him babble on. They informed us on what was going on in the area over the coming week and checked to see if we needed anymore towels etc... half way through the week. On our last day my son waited all morning looking out of the window, so as not to miss them to say goodbye and to tell them that he'd had a wonderful holiday. And so had we. Thank you!

August 2016
Warm and friendly greeting from a delightful couple.. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Cottage was equipped to a high standard including washing machine and wifi that worked. Access to heating if we needed it- which we didn't because the weather was kind to us. Close to transport links so didn't need the car, to get to nearby towns. Highly recommended for a peaceful break- we walked miles!!!
