Holiday Rental Description

Nestled in the village of Chipping on the slopes above the River Loud, this adorable cottage is perfect for a peaceful getaway for couples, small families and their canine companions. Wander down the cobbled streets and visit one of the quaint cafes or the two traditional village pubs serving home cooked food or try the farmshop with local produce. Chipping is situated in the Forest of Bowland which was designated as an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty in 1964 and is a very popular walking destination. One of the best known features of the area is Pendle Hill, which lies in Pendle Forest. The Trough of Bowland is a pass connecting the valley of the Marshaw Wyre with that of Langden Brook, and dividing the upland core of Bowland into two main blocks. Set in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley, a rural refuge with spectacular scenery, there are an abundance of picturesque walks and cycle trails nearby. The popular market town of Clitheroe is 9 miles away where you can visit the ancient castle or indulge in a spot of retail therapy. For a family day out, the Bowland Wild Boar Park is around 3 miles away and great for families with lots of animals and activities for the children, with a woodland, cafe and river walk for a gentler pace for everyone to explore. For those wanting to venture slightly further afield, the breathtaking landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District National Park, and the market town of Skipton with the ancient Skipton Castle, can all be reached within 25 miles. As you step inside you'll be welcomed by a truly homely space complete with many original features. The ground floor is home to a cosy open plan living space where the lounge boasts a traditional wood burner to create a warm haven to unwind. Make your way towards the charming kitchen and dining area; fully equipped with everything you'll need to cook and enjoy hearty meals following a long day exploring the local area. When the day is done, retreat upstairs to the bedrooms. The first is a comfortable king, complete with an original fireplace and en suite shower room. The second bedroom is a cosy twin and next to it lies the family bathroom. At the rear of the cottage is a modest, enclosed patio area surrounded by pretty flowers and plants and overlooking the surrounding countryside. A truly peaceful oasis, sit around the table and enjoy a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening.
