You can’t get much closer to the sea than staying on the site of a lighthouse. Set on a windswept cliff above the Bristol Channel, this former lighthouse keeper's cottage is a place to really get away from it all. The remote location means there’s no wi-fi here and very little mobile signal, leaving you free to read, relax, and ramble the trails of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. As holiday homes go, this one is a little basic – but in such a special location, simple is sometimes best. After all, it's the scenery that's the real star of the show.

*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*The toilet is separate from the bathroom here.
*The lighthouse and equipment require regular maintenance, so maintenance staff may need to visit during your stay.
*Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. Free parking is available for two vehicles. Access roads to the lighthouse are narrow with limited passing places.
*While the property is fully fenced and gated, the clifftop location of this home means children should be supervised at all times.
*The use of fireworks and drones isn't permitted here.
