Old Tether Barn is a detached dairy conversion near the village of Crymych just eleven miles from Cardigan. The cottage sleeps two people in one king-size double bedroom with family bathroom. Also in the cottage is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner and a first floor snug. Outside is off road parking for four cars and a front lawned garden with side patio, both with furniture. Situated in the Pembrokeshire countryside, Old Tether Barn is a lovely cottage from which to tour this lovely part of the country.

This property was awarded a 2023 Sykes Star for scoring consistently perfect feedback from guests. Mostly ground floor. One bedroom with King Size bed. Bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Utility/ cloakroom with WC and basin.

Area
The village of Crymych is found in the rambling Pembrokeshire countryside, close to the fabulous Preseli Mountains where sheep and wild horses amble, with cattle grids on either side to keep them on the mountain. The village itself has a good choice of local shops, while the bustling market town of Cardigan is a 20 minute drive away and boasts a selection of unique shops, along with tea rooms, pubs, two cinemas, a modern theatre and a live music venue. Cardigan is also home to a large beach called Poppit Sands, which is ideal for relaxing in the summer and also perfect for an exhilarating winter walk. The Iron Age fort of Castell Henllys is nearby, providing a great day out for all the family, while there are a number of walks and cycle trails to explore. An ideal location, within easy reach of all that Pembrokeshire has to offer.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, but the thing that makes Old Tether Barn stand out from the (many) other cottages my wife and I have stayed at us the attention to detail shown by the owners.. The cottage was immaculate, there was every possible type of utensil you could want available - and all genuinely clean - fresh flowers in the windows, complimentary toiletries available, extra logs for the fire which you could help yourself to (rather than having to ask). In short, this is the best holiday cottage we have ever used, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The cottage was really spacious but cosy, with lovely decor and furniture.. The kitchen had everything we needed and more (including a bag of ice and a cocktail shaker!), the hosts had clearly thought of all the little things a couple might want for a romantic week away in the Welsh hills. The location was also perfect, with beautiful views and friendly sheep surrounding us. We are fussy but have no hesitations in recommending this cottage.

This is a lovely cottage, finished to a very high standard in a wonderful, quiet location.. Ideal walks on the nearby hills as you can start straight from the front door with no need to drive. We only had a short stay so we sent the owners several emails so that we could make the most of our time, they were very helpful and recommended a fantastic local pub where we enjoyed an excellent meal. We are already looking at dates to come back and spend longer at Old Tether Barn.

This cottage was truly amazing, so well equipped and clean.. My wife and I have stayed in many lovely places, but this one easily tops them all. The peace and quiet was amazing, along with the stunning scenery. They say the camera can’t lie, but on this occasion the camera cannot do justice to this lovely property and its setting. The cottage was as advertised and exceeded our expectations.. It was really well presented, very well equipped; the owners had thought of everything. We arrived to wine, coffee, chocolate and even a pint of milk, which was a lovely gesture! Sue had also left extra toiletries in case we had forgotten anything. The owners live next door and are on hand if you need anything but leave you to your own devices if not. It's a stunning location, with a beautiful garden and you have all you need for a few days away or a week's holiday. Highly recommend.

We would absolutely love to stay in this cottage again, next time we'll walk the Golden Road across the Preseli Hills.. We visited many different places from this cottage, including the beautiful Poppit Sands and Dinas Head. There was certainly nothing ‘old’ about this lovely cottage except the ‘old fashioned’ welcome of being treated to a home from home experience.. Just everything was taken into consideration to ensure that we had one of the best of stays. Fresh flowers and chocolates to greet us on our arrival just added to the pleasure of this break. This cottage could easily have been a two bedroom cottage but the owners have made a spacious one bed with extra snug rooms downstairs & upstairs plus in the outside grounds there are multiple seating areas.. Lovely homely feel - well furnished, with quality ornaments, pictures - felt like a home not a rental. Exceptionally well stocked - particularly kitchen (cleaning products, pans, white goods) and lots of extras e.g. DVDs, books, games, toiletries, sewing kit.

We had a great time at Old Tether Barn.. It was extremely comfortable and in a great location. The area and setting are beautiful and we really enjoyed getting away from it all for a week. And it was great coming back to the wood burning stove each evening. We also enjoyed meeting the 4 black sheep. The owners have done an amazing job in restoring this property with so much love and care and we are very grateful for everything they have done to get somewhere like this back into use after being in such a sorry state when they first took it on many years ago. The Old Tether Barn lived up to all the reviews it has received.. We just so loved our stay at Old Tether Barn..This Barn has been restored with so much love and respect..We have stayed at a number of places, over the years. Old Tether Barn, is the place that we have loved the most, of all.This was our last visit, as my husband in a War Veteran. This visit was just so important to us both. When you plan a holiday, from Australia, you just hope, that it as as good, as others say..We both just wanted to make Memories..and we have done that, at the Barn. It is very private, even though the main home is close. And that is a hard thing to do. I am a country girl, and my husband is a city person..So, to get the connection, for both people, I feel, is very hard to do. But, it is done, just so well. Loved he privacy of the Barn, and the garden..The wood burner, the little nooks and crannies, and the amazing loft..There are just lovely places, that gave places for both of us, to just enjoy..together of by ourselves..Shall I mention the sheep? And the big fat bumble bees, in the garden..When you arrive, this Barn just wraps it's arms around you, and you just never want to leave..We so wanted to bring it all back to Australia. Thank you both, as we feel that both of you, have been involved in this. And the balance is stunning..Thank you for allowing us to be apart of this wonderful place..

This is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location.. The cottage sits in its own extensive grounds on the edge of a valley with far reaching views. The cottage is spotless and fully equipped to a very high standard and very comfortable, the bed is amazing, we both slept better than we have for a long time. It would be lovely to have had some garden loungers, but there was plenty of other comfortable garden furniture. The location is very quiet with the only the sounds of birds to be heard. It is a good place to view birds of prey hunting up and down the valley . It also had a very pretty well tended country garden.

Old Tether Barn is just stunning.. My Husband and I had a week there, and it was just not long enough. My husband is a Veteran, and we were making Memories, as to come this distance from Australia, is a long flight. This amazing Barn, just shows how much this lovely couple, wanted to do the right thing by this wonderful old Barn. To get the balance right is a difficult thing. The quality fittings throughout this Barn, the attention to all the small details. The wood burning stove, the little spaces, that gave both of us, a place to read, enjoy our own time. Then when we wanted time with each other, we could do that as well. A glass of wine..Sitting outside, in the little nook there, or, the table and chairs, in the warm sun..This lovely Barn, offers you all the privacy that you need. We have travelled and stayed at some lovely B&B's, but Old Tether Barn, is the one that caught our hearts. We only wish that we could have stayed so much longer. If we could come back, we would.. The care, the skill, the love and respect, that has gone into making this, a most wonderful place to stay, shows. This lovely old restored Barn, just wrapped it arms around us, and we did not want to leave...Shall we also mention the Sheep, the Garden, and the big fat Bumble Bees? Thank you both for allowing us, to have time at Old Tether Barn, it was such a wonderful gift, and we just loved it.

It's hard to know where to start.. The cottage was out in the wilds, but not difficult to find. The photos of the property were accurate, but inevitably couldn't convey the cosiness inside. A picture of the view would be useful, because sometimes there is little or indication of what awaits you. At the Old Tether Barn however, the view is magnificent. Relaxing in the garden, you may lack motivation to wander! Inside the cottage, everything has been thought of. If you feel the need to moan after a week here, you're probably just that sort of person!

This place is great! In a perfect secluded location with beautiful views of rolling hills. The cottage is well situated to explore the Pembrokeshire coast national park - plenty of lovely walks, landmarks, gardens and towns to explore. Inside the house was spotless and so well equipped! The kitchen has everything you could wish for...muffin tins, lemon juicer, slow cooker...! The bathroom is lovely too and the wood burner a nice warming touch for a chilly evening. Fabulous!
