There is plenty to explore with ancient woodlands and well marked footpaths available from the front door and for keen cyclists, there is access onto the National Cycle trail with route 42 and plenty of local mountain biking.
Visit one of the many vibrant market towns, the closest being Monmouth with its ancient bridge and independent shops, and slightly further afield Chepstow, Abergavenny and Crickhowell, all steeped in history. The area is full of Norman castles and ancient abbeys such as the nearby Tintern Abbey, Raglan Castle, White Castle and Grosmont.
