Hen Aelwyd Yr Urd has one double bedroom and one bathroom with bath and shower over, basin, and WC. There’s an open-plan living space with kitchen and dining area, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer and a sitting area with multi-fuel stove. WiFi, fuel and power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Outside there’s a small rear gravelled area with bistro table and chairs and roadside parking available 50 yards from property (can park outside cottage to unload only). Two well-behaved dogs welcome (please bring own dog beds & towels). Sorry, no smoking. Nearest shop and pub in 0.2 miles. Hen Aelwyd Yr Urd is a wonderful retreat in Gwynedd. Note: Rear gravelled area is enclosed but not completely secure. Note: Property is opposite a small, quiet local authority storage yard, which is well-kept with views extending towards the Moelwyn Mountains. Note: Shower is over a bath, however due to hot water tank capacity showers are only advisable. Note: Adults only, no children allowed (inc. infants). Note: Check-in from 4pm and check-out by 10am.

Area
The fascinating old slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is situated in a superb position for exploring the Snowdonia National Park. There is a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. The main local attractions include Zip World Slate caverns, the longest zip line in Europe and fastest in the world, this is a great underground adventure. The slate mines now hold the prestigious status of a world heritage site, awarded by UNESCO and visitors can take enthralling underground trips there to see mining as it was done in days gone by. The famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway also runs for 13 miles through the Snowdonia National Park to the harbour town of Porthmadog. Nearby is Portmeirion village, famous for its architecture and the film set of the cult TV series The Prisoner, plus local beaches, suitable for children, are within easy driving distance.
