Area Trefnant is a small North Wales village situated between Denbigh and the Diamond Jubilee City of St Asaph. Trefnant is situated in the Vale of Clwyd and is home to a primary school, a couple of shops, a fish and chip shop and a local pub. St Asaph was awarded city status in 2012 and is best known for its magnificent white cathedral. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. Nearby Denbigh dates back to the 11th century and boasts the remains of a 13th century castle, perched on a steep hill above the town and commanding some superb views over the surrounding countryside. Denbigh is a busy little town, with a variety of shops and pubs, and a number of events including walking festivals, beer festivals, the Denbigh and Flint Annual Show, the Clay Art Potters Market and a monthly People's market. Trefnant is a superb touring base for discovering the sights and history of North Wales.
