Had the most fantastic holiday at this wonderful cottage, Cath and Mick were absolutely amazing, wonderful people can't do enough to make our stay perfect, catered for our every need, they are highly professional and extremely accommodating. Returned home completely refreshed after having the most relaxing time as we've already booked for next year which will be a fifth year at this most perfect place and it's most warm and welcoming couple and that is Cath and Mick and the adorable Bob the dog. Perfection personified!

I'd avoid this place and not give your money to a rude, heartless, unreasonable, invasive, creepy and inhumane couple, who ruined my holiday. Definitely have secret cameras fitted. Very unwelcoming and unsettling environment.

A70th celebration absolutely ruined, these owners are not nice people. We had some really bad news before we left which meant we had one extra guest for one night, a child. I phoned ahead and explained that this would only be for one night, as we have relatives close by who could then accommodate the extra guest, the owners reluctantly agreed, but my stomach had already started to twist with the unemphatic response I had received, I also asked if there was a bbq available as it was predicted lovely weather, and said that family would be calling over to wish him well, they where not happy about this either. I also explained that we would be back for a funeral so would be leaving on Wednesday. (Not Friday). The friends who where coming over where pensioners in there 70s. On the first day, the owner arrived at the house unannounced, checking the hot tub at 8.00 am, this felt intrusive and set off our two small dogs. The wife walked past around 10.00am and their dog jumped over the fence scaring out two little dogs. We where then out all day arriving back at around 7.30pm. My father in laws best friend was there, he made a surprise visit in his camper van on their way down to Devon, he is also 70. BBQ and evening was lovely. The owners arrived 10.00am the next day and where on premises to check hot tub again ????? My father in law’s friends said good morning, he (owner) was extremely aggressive towards them, and by 10.40am we had a call from Sykes asking us to leave for over occupancy, theses pensioners stayed on the drive in a camper, the other guests went home as they had a designated driver. We had 7 people around for bbq in total which we advised about in advance. None of them stayed in the property) I felt uncomfortable whilst there and believe we where being watched.. you know that uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. Also no refund given but not surprising as the nature of these people. Sykes also advised me to take this matter up with civil courts.

Thank you Kath and Mick for a wonderful time. Lots of room for 8 of us. Lovely to have welcome pack for us and the dogs. Nightly drinks in the wood fired hot tub with a fab view. Lovely big garden for dogs and games. Comfy beds, loved seeing the birds on the bird feeder from kitchen window. Great location for walks and wild swimming, we hope to come again.

This is our 2nd stay here, and won’t be our last! The cottage is spacious yet cosy. We are a group of mums and daughters who have an annual weekend away, there are 7 of us and the cottage is perfect for our chilled weekend. The hot tub was a hit with the daughters, the mums enjoyed the peace whilst the daughters were out there! The owners are helpful yet unobtrusive, the garden is gorgeous with lots of partridges and other birds visiting us. Can’t wait for our next visit!

We had an amazing weekend staying at this cottage. The owners have created a lovely cosy feel to the cottage and there are lovely touches throughout, including an impressive welcome pack. The kitchen is extremely well equipped even providing the same Denby crockery that we have at home. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and there are benches dotted around the garden so you can make best use of the sun, not that we had much during our stay. We did use the wood burning hot tub which has fantastic views of the Berwyns. We had some great dog walks and paddle boarding nearby. I wish we could have stayed longer and will defiantly be coming back - it’s perfect

The cottage is absolutely stunning ! ! We went for a family get together. The directions were accurate the house was spotless and smelt lovely and lemony as we entered. The facilities were fantastic and the garden was brilliant for my dog and 2 year old. (Shame about the rain but we still went out) we are definitely looking at coming back again.

Every year we have a family get together.. We rent a cottage for a week and spend it with our son and daughter, with partners and recently our grand daughter. We have spent the last few years in the Lake district, again with Sykes cottages and this year decided to go to Wales. The house was superb and the grounds delightful. It is well placed to visit surrounding towns and villages which made the holiday perfect for our needs. I would strongly recommend this for a rewarding holiday

We visited for the weekend with friends. This place has everything you need and more, all the home comforts you need and lots of space inside and out. There was plenty of games to keep the children entertained in the evenings. The views are stunning. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

What a lovely cottage! I recently stayed at Groes Lwyd and loved it. Perfect location for trips to nearby tourist attractions. The cottage itself was perfect for us a family. Large loving room with a fire to keep us warm during our stay in snowy early Feb. The kitchen had enough space for us all and we ate families meals at the table. The small lounge was used as a kids entertainment room by use during our stay, perfect for the kids to watch dvds and play in safely. The gardens provided enough space for the kids to play, run around and enjoy the beautiful views of the Welsh countryside. We can't wait to return.

What a great time we had in this fab property. Spacious rooms & large kitchen where we ate all our meals together. The games room had a large selection of books, games and DVDs which kept the kids happy. Beds very comfy and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Lovely garden with amazing views of the snowy hills. Welcome tray was excellent especially for late arrivals. Local info leaflets & menus very helpful. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

“What a gorgeous place! Very quiet, peaceful and idyllic! Beautiful character with wooden and tiled floors. Log burner in the lounge, big utility room, small lounge which we used as a “tech room” and set up the laptop and telescope, downstairs loo, beautiful kitchen (which is huge!), pantry, 4 bedrooms - 1 en suite, and family bathroom! Oak beams throughout! MASSIVE gardens! Kath and Mick (owners) left a massive welcome tray with tea, coffee, biscuits, pasta, bolognese sauce, and loads of beer! Beds freshly made, fluffy towels provided, laminated maps of local walks! LOVE this place!!” Kath and Mick are both really friendly and brilliant hosts!

We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this was amongst the very best.A large kitchen with a separate utility/boot room made this perfect for us and our two labradors. Two lounges, four bedrooms including an en suite and a magnificent garden too.Great location with so many walks close by as well as stunning lakes all within 20 mins max drive, plus much more. The owners are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. I would recommend this cottage without hesitation!
