Holiday home
Pendre Uchaf is a delightful stone-built barn conversion set on a 320 acre working sheep and cattle farm, boasting lovely views across the River Clwyd Valley. With three bedrooms including one double, one second floor double and one twin, the cottage can sleep six people. The cottage also includes a shower room, a kitchen with dining area, a sitting room with woodburning stove and a conservatory. Outside is off road parking for four cars and a private, enclosed lawned garden with patio, furniture and BBQ. Pendre Uchaf sits in a wonderful rural position, nearby a deep and open lake (children should be supervised) which is ideal for fishing (please bring own equipment) and swimming, and this cottage offers an ideal retreat for families and friends looking to discover beautiful North Wales.

Over three floors. Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x second floor double, 1 x second floor twin. Shower room with corner shower, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with woodburning stove. Conservatory.

Area
The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter's Square.

Cannot think of one bad thing about this cottage. Spacious, light, very clean and very well equipped everywhere! From the welcoming cakes, to the log fire, we couldn’t ask for a more comfortable stay. The beds are so comfortable, the towels all nice etc. games/dvds all provided for kids and adults alike. The views are stunning across the valley and a nice coffee in the morning on the seats outside were Devine. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, even showing us around the farm. Providing all logs for the real wood burning fire in the lounge. Will Definitely be going back.

This is a great cottage, very high quality. The log stove was on when we arrived and there were all sorts of goodies as well. The owners were very friendly. Lovely views over the valley. Not much nearby, but if you have a car it’s no problem. We climbed snowdon, went wild swimming and did a cave adventure. 5 of us with some young in their twenties. All had a great time. I bet I’ve been to 40 cottages over the years, and this is one of the best. Very quiet and remote, but very comfy. If that’s what you like then this is a winner

Great cottage, great location.. Really clean and has everything you need - even to keep you occupied on rainy days. Owners very welcoming. Our children enjoyed seeing their animals and even the sheep being herded down the road. Only downside - couldn't find the swimming or fishing lake mentioned in the description!

The hosts were lovely and on hand should we have any concerns.. We were left some gorgeous cakes and the cupboards were well stocked with the basics. Lovely location close to some nice walks, perfect rest.

Absolutely brilliant cottage, lovely rural setting.. Ideal spot for exploring North Wales. Property was very clean and well equipped. Kids loved the Nintendo Wii, nice touch for wet weather. The owners were very nice and happy to help. Can't wait to return next year. Especially for the homemade cake! The Sinker Family Devon.

Large spacious property in a quite and peaceful location.. The lawned area is a decent size, amazing views from the patio area and the reclining sofas in the sitting room are very comfortable. Plenty to see and do in the area and many good walks close by. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and take great care to make sure your stay is perfect. We would definitely recommend this property.

The couple who ran the cottage were very considerate and pleasant.. Attention to detail surrounding the beautiful individual fragrance and decoration of bedrooms. The cottage was fully stocked, with everything you could possibly need. The welcome pack, fruits, cakes, flowers etc... were a lovely touch. The surrounding location was calming. Loved it.

This is our 2nd time at Pendre Uchaf.. Once again we have had a fantastic time. The cottage is lovely and the owners are so welcoming and helpful. It was lambing season so we watched the lambs being born from our back garden. The owners took us round the farm to see the cows, calf's and goats. We will definitely be back again soon.

The location of the property was perfect, we enjoyed the views and the forest walks.. The hosts are the nicest people you'll ever meet, always checking on us and making us feel very welcome. The home baked cakes and milk in the fridge on arrival started our holiday off very well. The log burner had even been lit ready for us! We would recommend the cottage 100% and would love to visit again.

We had a brilliant stay at Pendre Uchaf a couple of weeks back (Tuesday April 2nd - Friday 5th).. Normally we would be skiing this time of year so, of course, it snowed up at Melin-Y-Wig. We arrived with our two boys (in their early 20s) and our dog. We could not have been made more welcome - including the very thoughtful provision of tea and cake upon arrival. Meryl and Arwel popped over from time to time to make sure everything was fine - and this was much appreciated. We all agreed our time spent at Pendre Uchaf was perfect and our hosts could not have been more attentive and caring despite having to work through the night to deliver up to 70 lambs. We were even invited across to the farm before we left to have a quick look at everything that was going on - during which my wife was invited to help deliver a lamb! All this and a bit of "Countryfile" work experience thrown in! A fantastic setting and a perfect cottage. We will be back. Thank you. Chris and Wendy Barnett (Kent)

Our hosts went out of their way to see that we had an enjoyable stay and made us very welcome.. The house is really nice, well kept and has everything you could possibly need. The phone signal is poor but we could get signal from the garden so it wasn't a problem. The surrounding area is lovely with lots of places to walk and enjoy the woods and countryside. I can definitely recommend it.

Meryle & Aylwin were the best hosts ever, we had a lot of laughs with them, it was as if we've known them for years, so welcoming, went to their farm which is opposit, met the new born lambs, goats & their puppies, Meryle had tea, home made scones & cakes ready for us, she is so beautiful inside & out, Aylwin is such a clown, he was a laugh a minute, always checked in on us to see how we were doing.. The cottage is fabulous, everything was so comfy, cosy and clean , bedrooms had everything you need, we all slept well. Took a drive to Ruthin has lots of pubs, shops & the castle was really interesting, Visited Portmerrion for the day [Prisoner] had a fabulous day there, highly recommend it, Thank you Mr & Mrs Evans for having us !!

This was the best equipped cottage we have been to and had everything we needed.. The cake,fruit bowl and fresh flowers on arrival were a lovely touch. The only thing I would say is with children a little wooden gate across the top of the kitchen stairs would be handy and a stronger Wi-fi as there is no phone signal to be able to use for sat-nav on phones. The owners were very helpful and even let us use our own fireworks for the children. Fantastic stay.

The photos on the web site do not do the cottage any justice, it's truly beautiful and very well equipped with everything you need and more. This is our second visit and was not disappointed. Very friendly hosts and always helpful. Beautiful views and lots of places to visit. Our grown children love it here and already we are thinking of going back again. The farm animals are a delight. Really great place to be at one with nature. Highly recommend it.

Upon arrival we knew we had made the right choice, just far enough away from the outside world, this perfect spot hosted amazing views.. The cottage itself was spacious, kitchen and bathroom was equipped with everything and even a cake was baked when we got there :) The owners are amazing, and so accommodating and friendly even went to see some of their baby animals. The towns located near are beautiful and really nice to go round. This cottage and place is somewhere we will be visiting again with out a doubt. We couldn’t recommend it enough.

The owners Mr and Mrs Evans where great they left us some welcome food and stocked up on wood for burner and fire was on on arrival .. They came down to say hi and to see if we need anything and with the snow hitting hard they offered help with farm tractor . We decided to leave day early due to snow going to hit heavier the next day . They escorted ourselves and our friends with their tractor to safety. Couldn't ask for more as think they went above and beyond x

We rented this cottage for the weekend for our wedding in Ruthin, absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave! Incredibly equipped, very cosy and a lovely location. Owners were very welcoming and helpful and even offered to pick us up from Ruthin after the wedding if we needed them,lovely people! We can’t wait to book it again!

There were little extras that went a long way(Home made victoria sponge / milk in the fridge, fire lit in readiness for our arrival) etc. The cottage was spotless and we had a superb, family break. This was a lovely cottage and in a great location if you enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.. When we arrived the owners had left a lovely Victoria sponge, scones (which tasted amazing) and fresh flowers, they even came down to make sure we had arrived ok and everything was in order. Although you could hear each other walking around the house it wasn't something that would stop us going back! It was very warm and the fire was lovely on the cold autumn evenings. We had plenty of space for the 5 of us. We will defiantly be back for another visit soon!!!

Pendre Uchaf is a spacious and well-designed three-bed cottage set in a stunning part of North Wales -- a truly idyllic rural location. The cottage itself is immaculate, extremely well-appointed and has a super-fast dedicated wifi connection, which is a rarity in many vacation properties. The family who owns the cottages is extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome. I look forward to going back.

Not one negative and should be rated very highly on the tourist board rating, unsure what the property's current rating was but it was an excellent all round property and furnishings, will recommend and will go back as a family of six, had a great time.

We all had a brilliant holiday! The owners were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful with suggestions on things to do around the area. The cottage was beautiful with some really nice views. It was fully equipped, it had everything you needed. outstanding service from the family, beautiful location and excellent property which although homely is still luxurious. we wanted to get away from it all and this was perfect for peace but not to far from go-carting and tree climbing etc. we had our dog with us and we fell in love with the collies. the owners really go the extra mile Im sure we'll be back hopefully soon.
