The weather for our week 22.. 08.20 to 29.08.20 was awful. This did not spoil our holiday due to staying in Cedar Gardens. We enjoyed everything about the property, from the comfort, space, history and the gardens. Everything you could possible need is provided from a well equipment kitchen to indoor and outside games. Due to the Covid 19 situation we where all ready for a change of scenery and relaxing, Cedar Gardens provided this and much more. The tranquil setting in Wales was the perfect bolt hole, for us it was just perfect.
Thank you Peter for the lovely welcome gift and flowers, very much appreciated.
We will return and hopefully the weather will be better and we will be able to explore this wonderful part of Wales. The Gullett family,

Cedar gardens was fantastic.. . we could not believe the amount of space we had . The gardens and property were enormous !
The property itself was equipped with everything we needed for our stay .
Friendly welcome by peter the caretaker who keeps the gardens immaculate!
Also lots of fresh bedding and towels available if we required them ..
Beautiful views when sat on the balcony looking out on the amazing huge garden complete with 300 year old cedar tree ..playground for lots of cheeky squirrels !!
BBQ and picnic area also available at the property and a conservatory area at the end of the gardens complete with wood burner which we didnt need as the weather was hot and sunny all week !! Big chest full of garden games available too !! The owners of this property have thought of everything ! All in all we had a fantastic time at cedar gardens and would recomend it to everyone!!

Cedar Gardens is absolutely fabulous.. With a balcony 50 feet long where you can sit and soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful large gardens. With a choice of 3 rooms to sit, eat, or just relax in the peaceful surroundins. A choice of 2 large gardens, a conservatory with chairs, log fire and a kitchen where you can brew tea or make a coffee. We came home relaxed with fond memories. This was our second visit and would highly recommend it.

We thought that it might be too good to be true, but everything written about Cedar Gardens is aboslutely true and really does have that wow factor when you see what you have got.. We have nothing to add that has not already been said. We would reitereate though that it is difficult to find - especially if you use a Sat Nav, by all means get close to it with a Sat Nave but then use the map they send you for the last mile.

The only negative is that the pub within easy walking distance is now closed down.. Now for the good news... From the second we entered it felt like ‘home’. Every possible need is catered for and we relaxed straight away. The surroundings (2 beautiful gardens and views over Clwyd) are outstanding and the house itself is exceptional. It is so spacious - large bedrooms with big windows to make the most of the views. An extra room to get away from it all and a small kitchenette to save you from having to go up to the main kitchen when you’re having a cosy TV night. We didn’t even use the garden room but it is there also with log burner. Facilities are fab. Everything is top quality. The house has a lot of history too and this makes it feel even more special. Thank you Peter for all your hard work in maintaining the property and the grounds - we loved our week there.
p.s. regarding the pub situation there are a few decent ones in Ruthin - around a 40 minute walk. We found a really reliable taxi service for getting home (Davey’s taxis - under £7).

Cedar Gardens was everything we hoped for & more.. We intended to use the accommodation as a base to explore the area, but we felt so comfortable & relaxed there that we did very little more than enjoy the beautiful gardens. This was such well equipped accommodation, we wanted for nothing. Breakfast on the balcony was a real treat as the weather was wonderful!

Two huge bedrooms two bathrooms two balconies two gardens heating on constant welcome pack of bread jam and butter and milk.
Beautiful house really beautiful so relaxed and every comfort met.
Stayed for a week with daughter in law so was big enough to go off and find our own space.
Quiet room was amazing it made you take time for yourself sitting looking out on the large gardens with squirrels.
Garden room hidden at bottom of Garden with log burner.
Peter who met us with keys pleasant and friendly and when I rang just to let him know dishwasher wasn't working he was round immediately and had a guy out to fix it next day.
I was tempted not to leave this review because I wanted to keep this place to myself. Would have come back in April if they had a booking free.
Outstanding house for a great price and everything you need for that break provides toilet roll washing up liquid tea towels dishcloths washing powder dishwasher tablets handsoap in all bathrooms and kitchens bath towels.
A bit hard to find but Peter came out to meet us. If you are coming on the Mold Road and you pass the now closed Griffin Inn pull into its car park and go back towards Mold up the hill and round the really bad bend then after about quarter of a mile turn left onto Lon Mynedd.

Set in a quiet and idyllic location, the cottage has everything you need, from all the mod cons to a huge garden.. We used it mainly as a base while we went sightseeing around North Wales, but on returning back later each evening we made use of all the available amenities to us, which included the garden games (croquet, boules, badminton, and ring toss). These were kept in the separate garden room next to the large rear lawn. Believe it or not the only thing we didn't use was the TV! My wife, two daughters and myself found it difficult to leave on the day of our departure, such was our enjoyment of the holiday. We would love to return, and I am sure once the word gets out, that this new addition to Sykes Cottages, will result in other holidaymakers having the same opinion. Thanks for letting us stay at this fantastic cottage.

We were very impressed by the well equipped and comfortable cottage, definitely one of the loveliest places we have stayed in.. It wasn't the easiest place to find and we had to ask a passing policeman for directions. Beautiful gardens to admire from the balconies and garden room. This is a truly delightful place to stay with a very welcoming host.

We stayed here in November. We received an excellent, warm greeting from Jess, the perfect host, who showed us around and made us feel at home. A "welcome pack" of essentials awaited us. The accommodation is large and expansive, as are the grounds, including a large, private garden with garden room complete with log fire, electricity, and BBQ area . Again expansive. The two kitchens were extensively equipped, as were the two shower rooms. with all the little extras one would find at home. Car parking was no problem, as this was a private area. The views from the windows and balconies were outstanding. The accommodation was spotless. Great selection of games both in the quiet room and the garden room. Wifi available everywhere, including garden. Would definitely recommend.

Really great host.. Extremely helpful but unobtrusive. Superb accommodation and gardens. Fantastic layout and facilities. A quiet and tranquil getaway and a must for nature lovers. The garden room, complete with log fire is most welcoming. Every conceivable item you would need was at hand. Suntrap verandas and wonderful quiet room. Excellent beds and bedrooms. Extensive grounds. Both kitchens well equipped. We hope to return.
