Warmly welcomed on arrival by both Mair and Alan.. They had left us fresh milk, Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and plenty of fuel for the fire. The supply of all these basics is a great help to settle in quickly. The dogs were totally secure in both rear and front gardens so we could relax and let them wander about whilst we unpacked the car. Two friends stayed with us the first 2 nights and they found the adult bunks very comfortable as we did the double bed. The living room is like a pub lounge: very cosy, but, because we were staying in September during Covid19 and the evenings were drawing in, we had to spend lots of time on the lounge furniture which could be more comfortable. We’re not young and would’ve liked a greater level of comfort in the sofa and easy chairs. That was the only negative and, had we been able to go out more, we wouldn’t have noticed it.

Gorrig Cottage is a lovely, cosy cottage set in Gorrig, just outside of Llandysul.. On arrival, we were met by Mair and Alan (the owners who live next door, helpfully!) and told that there was a pint of milk in the fridge, coffee and tea in the cupboards and even Welsh cakes on the kitchen worktop! Mair and Alan were very helpful when the washing machine broke down; offering to do our washing for us. They even gave advice when we found a poorly bat under the gate! Washing up liquid, washing up gloves, dishwasher tablets and recycling/bin bags were all provided. We had lots of fun swimming outdoors during our stay and would highly recommend both this cottage and the area as a place to go on holiday.

The cottage was set in beautiful setting near to but not in the village offering privacy and quiet.. The owners, Alan and Mair were just as friendly and welcoming as the cottage it's self, as were the locals from the village. I proved to be a good central base for exploring from cardigan up to Aberystwyth and inland too. highlights were the beach at poppit sands, cardigan and the red kite feeding centre, bwlch nant yr arian forest, Aberystwyth. lots of good walking for our digs too. weather was awful but it was lovely to cosy up next to the log burner in the cottage after our daily excursions. will definitely be going back to explore some more, hopefully with better weather.

The owners were very welcoming and the cottage spotless.. It was lovely having a private driveway that was fully secure so our dog could be out the front with us or in the rear garden.

I contacted Sykes to establish if garden was shared as I have a very timid dog.. They asked owner who said no...great news. Despite this ,on arrival and all hours of the day and night we were kept awake by three near constantly barking dogs from next door. My dog wouldn’t go into the garden. We left a day early. Owner not surprised when I said about it and agreed that they could be ‘yappy’. I realise this is not the owners fault but ,in my opinion, she should of said before taking the money, esp as I had said about my nervous dog. Think carefully before booking this property.

The cottage was extremely comfortable.. It had everything you needed eg: utensils, extra bedding, complimentary biscuits and tea/coffee, plenty of loo rolls! The owners live next door and greeted us upon arrival and were available if we needed them, but were not intrusive in any way. Lovely wood burner available, lovely garden, lovely everything. Couldn't fault it.

This little cottage surpassed our expectations. We opted for a quiet family Christmas and this was exactly what we wanted. The cottage is so quaint and is situated in such a beautiful area of the Welsh countryside. The beds were so comfortable and the living room with the real log fire was just perfect. It was truly like stepping back in time. Just lovely!
