In the warren of alleyways that tangle their way between Piazza Navona and the Tiber, even the approach to Isolda feels essentially Roman. Once inside, you’re surrounded by heavyset original features, which draw you further into the atmosphere. The downside of these old buildings is the lack of natural light, but when that’s the case for every home around, it feels churlish to complain.
