I don't think anywhere has actually exceeded our expectations before.. The WOW factor on entering the living room, with its log burning stove and well thought out mood lighting, was a great place to unwind with a bottle of wine in the evenings. Well, every evening actually! The kitchen: I have never seen a rented accommodation with such an array of high quality appliances, especially the cooker. It's the same make as ours but with one more burner (6) and a warming plate. Great fun! The double bed has a mattress that started sorting out my back pain on night one, so we're off to John Lewis today to buy one like it. Overall, a very good stay in a quiet location on the Moors and ideally placed to visit the well known spots of Devon and Cornwall. Just a hundred yards away, there is an excellent pub, the Drake Inn. Fresh local beers and very, very good food. The property owners are close by if help is needed, and they are genuinely helpful. If we were to be ultra picky, the kitchen needs more plug sockets but that really is it! Ella and Cliff

We have stayed in this cottage before so knew what to expect.. First time we used the log burning stove which was very efficient and made the cottage warm and cosy. Had everything you could expect and was an ideal home from home which is what we required.

The cottage was extremely comfortable and well-appointed.. I've stayed in a number of Helpful Holiday properties before and this was up to the usual high standard. I would stay here again.

The cottage was perfect for our needs and had everything we could have wanted.. The village was friendly with a great local pub which did good food and drink. There is no shop in the village but Yelverton, a short drive away, was able to meet most daily requirements.

For anyone seeking a quiet relaxing holiday then this could be for you, however having a six year old we were out and about all the time but the cottage was a welcoming place.. Garth and Mandy have tastefully decorated the cottage as a cottage should be given the history in the village. With its spacious kitchen/diner, snug living room and two good sized bedrooms this is a must. With The Drake Manor Inn offering very good food (my daughter said the best chips ever) and a very good selection of local ales and apple juice you do not need to go far for lunch or an evening meal. All in all this cottage and location just off the Moor deserve 11/10 on all counts.

We highly recommend this cottage.. It has been attractively furnished, and very clean. The owner has also added thoughtful touches to help make your stay very comfortable. The garden is lovely, and a pretty place to sit and have breakfast at the picnic table, as we did! You are situated on the edge of Devon, close to the Cornwall border - an ideal location to visit lovely places in both counties. A fabulous cottage in a beautiful village - with a lovely pub that does good food - we will be back!
