We had a great stay at this cottage.. ..the cottage is amazing in all aspects and the owners were very hospitable . i would like to thank them for the welcome they gave us and the lovely thought of the welcome hamper and for the toys which they prepared (and even got us more ) for our 3 year old son. we appreciate their efforts so that we could have the best holiday. the cottage was very well equipped with all you need for the stay and very comfortable too. i miss the views from the kitchen , from the garden, from the bedroom......and the quietness of the area. The village is lovely for a getaway away from it all ..yes it is a very good base for exploring north wales. will recommend for sure ! thanks again to the owners......

On arrival we met the owner who showed us around & as it was the Christmas week, invited to join in with village midnight service in the barn opposite; extremely comfortable cottage, every cooking implement needed to make a birthday cake and cook Christmas dinner for 4 people.. The second lounge with log burning stove is spacious for games of whist & scrabble and quietly reading. The cottage is surrounded by hills in which to explore running, walking & on bicycles and further over steep passes to Lake Vyrnwy. Nearby NT Bodnant Gardens worth a couple hours walking through sheltered gardens and footpaths. To date, the best accommodation we’ve stayed in, so highly recommended. Thankyou. This cottage is a home from Home nestled in a beautiful little valley surrounded by stunning Welsh countryside.. Thank you very much to our hosts for the warm welcome and the supplies, they were much appreciated after our 5 hour drive. The cottage is clean, quirky (a few steps to negotiate indoors). The snug is very cosy at night. The place is well equipped and very spacious. There is no phone signal, but the WiFi works fine. Couldn’t find the DVD player. The walks around the immediate area are short and pretty. We saw a few buzzards and bats. There are no shops or pub within walking distance, but that doesn’t matter once you’ve got stocked up with supplies at Bala co-op. There is a cafe within walking distance that serves a nice full English breakfast and on a sunny day you can sit outside and enjoy your food with a lovely view of the mountains. If you like the unpretentious Ty Uchaf will be your cup of tea.

Couldn't fault anything with this place.. The setting is beautiful especially if you want to be away from mobile phones as there is no signal at all! It's great. From the patio you could birdwatch and we saw loads of birds and the birdsong was awesome. Noisiest sheep I'd ever heard though. It's in a quiet village surrounded by mountains with spacious garden. There was everything you could possibly need, heaps of towels and even a caffetiere. The welcome pack was a lovely touch with some wine and local produce and home made bara brith, even milk and spread in the fridge and oil. There were clear instructions for everything you might need. The furniture is comfy and it has everything, possibly more, than one's home. There is plenty of space inside too. There are books and games and a stay at home day is just as good as driving miles. It is so easy to get everywhere, whether it be mountains, towns, lakes or railways and the seaside is only about an hour away. There are plenty of walks including one starting in the village right outside. I always comment on disabled access as this is important to me. I am mobility impaired but can use my legs indoors with the aid of a stick and help and managed the steps into the property. This is definately NOT wheelchair friendly though due to steps inside and outside the property, some of which are quite tall. However, if you have someone to help you and can walk a little you will probably manage as I did. There is a 'ground' floor bathroom and bedroom up a couple of steps but this bedroom is quite small with a high bed. However, there is a pull out double bed in the 'snug' lounge which is very comfortable. There is also a futon on the mezzanine. The main bedroom is enormous! It has it's own wash station and the views from the windows are fabulous, I enjoyed sitting on the basket chairs in the windows just looking out on the farm and mountains. At night you can see the stars through the skylights, weather permitting. The couple who own it are really lovely and their family live opposite if you need to contact them. Although it is family friendly beware or your kids might get withdrawal symptoms from lack of phone use, although the WiFi is excellent. The TV is ok but limited channels. It does have Netflix and you will need to use your own account. We loved it so much it broke our hearts to leave. We are determined to go back.

This quirky cottage is great and made even better by the lovely touch by the owners of a welcome pack of welsh produce on arrival.. The cottage is also extremely spacious and is equipped with almost everything you will need.

John and Merider are excellent hosts! John met us when we arrived and they had put up a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations for us. They had also put things in the fridge for us and left a hamper! We were so excited! The rooms were as expected and very clean. A very cosy cottage with plenty of local walks that was a perfect location for us to enjoy our Christmas week in. Thank-you!

We had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage.. Nice quiet location and a very snug lounge for the cold evenings. Fibre Broadband wasn't mentioned in the blurb but 17mbps was more than adequate.

We booked the cottage because we wanted somewhere cozy and quiet as a base to explore the area.. We were not disappointed. The owner called us a week before to let us know about the keys and directions. On arrival, we found a welcome bounty of homemade cake, cookies and wine as well as tea, coffee and fresh milk ready for us. The owners popped in and were really helpful and welcoming. The cottage was well stocked with cleaning products, toilet paper and tea towels. The cottage is amazing. It is very well equipped, spacious and very comfortable with plenty of logs to fuel the woodburner. The wifi is very good as there is poor mobile signal in the village. Plenty of fluffy towels are provided and there is ample storage for clothes and boots/shoes. There are extra sleeping options in the mezzanine as well as a roomy sofabed in the woodburner lounge. The single bedroom is a bit small in comparison to the rest of the rooms but the skylight directly above the bed where you can watch the stars at night makes up for it. Weather permitting, you can sit outside on the patio with only the mountain and the babbling stream running at the front of the cottage. There is a bus service from the village so even without transport, it would be possible to explore the area. If you have a car, then the cottage is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding natural marvels that Snowdonia has to offer.
