Area
Just outside the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty was a peaceful, rural community. A popular pub founded in 1750, a parish church going back to before the 15th century, and a Spar store can all be found in the small, historic village of Hazelbury Bryan. There is a children's play area and a field with cricket and football equipment in the community as well. With the Dorset and Cranborne Chase Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty nearby, which provide excellent chances for hikers and bikers with beautiful views to go with it, Hazelbury Bryan proved to be a perfect location for exploring the outdoors. The community has a fair assortment of stores and restaurants despite being somewhat remote; Sherborne, the closest well-stocked town, is 10 miles distant. Visit Bournemouth, a charming town with lots to see and do, around 25 miles south of here if you feel like a vacation to the shore.

Beautiful setting with welcoming hosts.. Great area for our walking holiday with our dog. Lots of dog friendly little pubs too. Highly recommend location and accommodation.

Mr & Mrs Holloway are the nicest people you could wish to meet.. Very kind and welcoming. The house was lovely, clean as a new pin and set in the most beautiful countryside. The views were incredible and we have never seen sunsets like the ones we experienced during our holiday. Even the lightning storm that came after the spell of very hot weather was spectacular. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed, after being in London through the Covid lockdown. The house is a great base from which to explore, with the beautiful Dorset towns of Sherborne, Dorchester, Shaftesbury, Blandford Forum and Yeovil all within easy reach. Our one gripe would be to have electric fans available for the bedrooms, as it was so hard to sleep during the hot spell.

The couple who own it made us feel very welcome and if we had had any problems I'm sure they would have been quick in sorting or helping us out.. They took time to speak with us giving us recommendations and ask about our day which was lovely. The accommodation is well equipped and we made good use off the washer/dryer. The cottage was very comfortable and we got the home from home feel we were after. Thanks for a lovely week

The Stables is a well equipped and spacious self contained property. The owners farmhouse is close at hand, but completely separate. This region is a delight for anyone who likes quiet and natural rural England. There are many delightful small towns and villages within easy reach and some excellent pubs serving really good food. The Dorset coast is not far away and is easily reached. The local lanes are quite narrow but are generally quiet and represent no drawback - they are part of the attraction for us! The house itself was very comfortable and the owners were very helpful and pleasant and respected our privacy perfectly.
Mrs Parr

February 2013
We were warmly welcomed by the owner. the property was home from home and had been decorated with a lovely Christmas tree. Comfortable size for 4 adults and we had a dog with us. The garden attached to the stables was dog/child friendly. We found a local pub The Green Man very friendly and the food was tasty. The landlord was helpful with giving us space to accommodate a toddler and dog, which allowed us to have an enjoyable time there. The stables is quite isolated if you wanted to do any shopping, having said that found a supermarket in Sturminster Newton offering a good range of products. Enjoyable, peaceful location.
Mrs Hadwin
