We are down to earth and look for quality, comfort and value for money. We stayed early August. Vicarage Retreat is pleasant, well presented and well equipped.
There is nothing in the advert stating its attached to the main building, a bed and breakfast. There is no sound proofing between that and the retreat. There is a single locked internal down separating the two buildings. Morning is clattering of pots,, beating of eggs, and unsurpressed conversation all be it only lasting about an hour, non the less leaving you feeling uncomfortable and not private. One occasion a washing machine was vibrating through the wall, not good! The patio area out side is surrounded by overgrown vegitation and overlooked by the bed and breakfast accommodation adjacent to the retreat. Not private and unable to relax or feel secluded outside.
Inside is very well presented however the recling sofa is not connected so upright seating only. One of the most frustrating issues we had was the shower, nothing more than a watering can flow ! Not what you need to start and finish the day.
Would we stay again NO ! You can get much more for your money. We only booked as our normal retreat a few miles away, cheaper with fantastic views and layout was booked up.
