The Mill House is a detached house on the outskirts of the small North Wales village of Carrog, just three miles from Corwen. The cottage sleeps twelve people and has one double bedroom, one twin with an en-suite, two family rooms (one with an en-suite), a children's bunks room and a family bathroom. Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room. Outside is off road parking and a garden with outdoor furniture. Ideal as a touring base for discovering Llangollen, Bala and the Snowdonia National Park, The Mill House is a wonderful holiday home for a family break at any time of the year.

Five bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x ground floor twin (zip/link, can be double on request) with en-suite walk-in bath, basin and WC, 1 x family room with 1 double and 1 single with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x family room with 3 singles (two zip/link, can be double on request), 1 x children’s bunks. Bathroom with freestanding bath, hand-held shower, separate shower, basin and WC. Kitchen. Dining room with balcony. Sitting room with electric stove. Conservatory.

Area
Set at the gathering point of five rivers, amongst stunning North Wales countryside, is the charming market town of Corwen. Offering plenty of local amenities including traditional butchers’, greengrocers and bakeries as well as a selection of pubs and restaurants, Corwen provides everything you need whilst discovering this stunning area. Circular walks lead from the centre of the town, wiith a festival dedicated to walking, talking place each year, plus there are many pleasant cycling and mountain biking trails nearby.

Fabulous house with such large grounds, brilliant for our 2 dogs who loved the field.. Very relaxing and perfect location with places of interest only a few miles drive either way.

The Millhouse is an amazing property with a nice lawn big enough to drive a car around.. The cottage was well occupied with all the necessary furniture, white goods, and items like BBQ, wood burner. There is an outside dining area and also a nice conservatory. It is in a very nice location, excellent for local exploration and also very near the river Dee. My only negative comment is regarding cleanliness, the property could have been cleaned a bit more, the carpets were bit dusty and the cobwebs were not removed fully. I highly recommend this property for a group of 10-12 people.

Mill House is ideal for large family groups or friends.. We had a fantastic time with our grandkids. Loads of space for them to explore and play. House is basic but well equipped, just right for small children. So pleased we have rebooked for same time next year.

The house was absolutely amazing! We stayed here with 13 people in total (9 adults 4 kids) and none of us felt cramped there was plenty of room for all of us at the dinner table and the garden was beautiful and very large so we played a game of rounders! We will definitely be back to stay again.

There were 8 people staying.. The house was extremely comfortable and afforded us plenty of space. A good supply of crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen equipment was well received by all. Heating and hot water when required was perfect. Ideally situated for visiting other places in the region in the beautiful Dee Valley.

Overall the holiday was wonderful.. The property however is really in need of updating and a proper clean in particular the bathrooms and toilets which are badly stained (black grouting etc_) BBQ could not be used as it was filthy from last family who let the house, furniture in the garden was damaged/chairs etc.. Apart from this the house is great, but the lack of cleanliness was a let down. Just really needs some TLC. Thanks

Mill house is an excellently situated location offering more than enough room and comfort for a relaxing holiday.. We were surprised at the space available and the dog loved it. We toured around the local area, and made use of local pub restaurants, and it met all of our expectations.

Unfortunately, my wife & I were unable to join our relatives for this holiday because I was diagnosed s having cancer.. However our friends tell us that they were somewhat disappointed over the rather tired look of the property & in particular were irritated by the lack of hooks & shelves in the en suites. As a group we have had cottage holidays for over 10 years & only had to complain once before so this whinge is not typical! We always select 4 or 5 star properties so while there were good points about the cottage these relatively minor omissions were as I say didappointing & not what we epect from Sykes Cottages. This review should be read in conjunction with "The Dairy" feedback as we rented both properties for our family get-together.. Although this was the first time we have used Mill House for the number of people staying the kitchen was extremely small. The gardens, wooden furniture excluding, were magnificent for all but especially the youngsters and as we were blessed with wonderful weather it made up for some of the niggles. As with The Dairy the comments regarding towels and garden furniture also apply here. Indeed some of the garden furniture was broken and unusable. There was also a problem with one double bed which had an old spring frame base which was very noisy. My sister and brother in law had to put the mattress on the floor to get a decent night's sleep. This was reported to the caretaker on departure. WiFi access in both properties was intermittent.
