Stayed for a week in August, we were apprehensive as the previous guests reviews were not so good.. Well all I can say is what a bunch of petty snobs this cottage is lovely. It has huge character and is everything you should expect for an old building. Yes it hasn't got any mod cons but if you want that then best get a flash apartment in st ives. As for the cleanliness then a few cobwebs in the windows is the only issue. The en suite is small but serves it's purpose, the bedrooms are cosy, living area and kitchen cosy and basic. Now it's not all a plus so here's a few negatives ..the frying pan is to small, the main bed is a hard, the oven takes about an hour to heat up( it gets there in the end) oh and if you don't like the countryside it's not for you the cows outside your window in the morning have some right conversations. Pub is 5 mins walk down the lane. It's not operating at it's best due to the pandemic and takes around 20 mins to get a drink but it's a nice place with friendly staff. Corwen town waste of time, smashing Chinese though we left a menu. So overall it was fine for our family of 5, we had a great week and after all this is a charity cottage so your doing your bit...

The cottage had NOT bee deep cleaned as advised we spent an hour upon our arrival cleaning Even then it left us with an uneasy fear throughout the week.. The kitchen was very tardy the storage of the pots ,pans was dusty and dirty. The dryer and washing machine had been left dirty and the dryer un emptied I have sent photos taken to show these issues, master bedroom on suit and downstairs loo both have a damp smell. Customers should be advised that the Sky box only has basic channels only. A disappointing property

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Corn Store, the downstairs is very spacious with the added benefit of a pleasant decking area out of the back door with seating.. The kitchen is pretty well kitted out, the oven isn't very large but sufficient and the hobs were slow! Any practical questions we had during our stay were dealt with promptly and well by the people that look after the property locally. We'd go again! Carrog is a great little village set on the River Dee, very pleasant to stroll along the river.

It’s a lovely cottage and great for a big family.. I honestly think the cottage needs a bit more attention- the sofas were itchy and we were quite allergic to the dust and animal hairs; as mentioned by previous residents, when we turned the tap on there was a very loud noise, which was quite disturbing; in the small room, on the bed, the throw smelled of fish and the bed itself was quite thin; the toilet, belonging to the master bedroom, leaked as soon as you flush the toilet; in the main toilet, the first time we took a shower, the water leaked down below, near the bookshelf. On an overall level, the house was pleasantly decent.

The ensuite bathroom is too small.. Too compact. Can't swing a cat in it. It was a struggle to have a shower as the cubicle was way too small for an adult. It would be best to get rid of the bath in the main bathroom and put in a large en suite shower. The boiler tank made a loud noise when turning on tap in kitchen. Sounded like an electric drill. Think there is air in the tank or something. Apart from above we had a lovely holiday and the cottage is so comfy and cosy. I would recommend staying here. The views are to die for

Yes, the instructions of the cottage need to be precise and may be a pin drop on Google Maps will be helpful for other travellers.. There was slight noise when the water was turned on but not something which cannot be done without. Rest all was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again and also recommend this in our circle

The Corn Store house was as expected clean tidy, with everything you would to be self sufficient.. Located in a great location for visiting the local pub ‘Grouse Inn’, Corwen for essential supplies and Llangollen for walking and site-seeing. Relaxing 4 day family break

Directions to property once in the village of Carrog were misleading.. After several forays up narrow roads, we eventually followed the instructions someone had left as a review on Booking.com website, fortunately, I remembered seeing it when I booked! Lovely location, spacious cottage....in need of some TLC though. Plenty to do/see in the area.

The cottage was in a lovely situation and very comfortable BUT there were several things not to our satisfaction.. The small shower unit in the main bedroom was a bit archaic with the water ranging from hot to cold without much notice. The grouting is in a bad state of repair and needs renewing urgently. A number of the taps in the cottage could do with a dose of WD40 to free them up. Likewise a number of the controls on the radiators are very stiff and some will not move. The directions to the cottage are a bit misleading and could do with a re-write. There was confusion when we tried to contact the person on the confirmation booking form regarding collection of the keys. There was no reply and we had to contact Sykes HQ for information. It was then we were informed "Oh there is a box on the wall where you need to put in a code number to access the keys" How were we to know this The instructions for the television were very confusing and we had to ask the lady who helps to maintain the cottage for help on several occasions. Even then we could not delete the subtitles. A shelf in the fridge kept falling down and we ruined a jar of marmalade because of this as it crashed to the floor. It seemed that one of the bits of plastic that kept it in the fridge door had previously been damaged prior to our visit. Despite these problems we enjoyed our stay and the lady who helped with the tv was most helpful.

Location of Cornstore was amazing, set in the hills of Nort Wales a pleasant 10 minute walk into Carrog village.. The Cornstore accommodation is set in a very tranqil setting with a great aspect overlooking fields which were full of welsh sheep The Cornstore is a comfortable and good sized with plenty of space for our party of 6 plus our two dogs.

Poor plumbing, rickety uncomfortable garden furniture, lighting awful.. In need of due care and attention, maybe the owner should live I. The accommodation to realise what is needed.

Peaceful cottage, plenty of space inside, nice decking area also seating out front.. the direction to cottage would be better to say go through village on left a bungalow up a slight hill on slight bend , just before national speed limit sign and post box a vert sharp right. the red house is further up the road.
