The Hemmel was clean, tidy and well furnished.. The kitchen although well equipped was very small for the size of the property, and a little tired looking compared to the rest of the property. The surroundings were very good and the minor issue with the TV was resolved very quickly. I would recommend the Hemmel, as i felt it was fantastic value for money, for a mid term break.

This is our perfect holiday get away.. The views and surrounding areas are breathtaking. I would advise anyone who would like to go walking and take in beautiful countrysides to visit this location. Even the sky on an evening is magical with the amount of starts you can see perfectly.

Kitchen very small but large dining room with table and chairs for 8 seemed a waste of space.. Roof lights in all bedrooms have no blinds , owner does supply eye masks but not practical, could be a problem in summer . Corner bath small , no relaxing soak possible. On the plus side bedrooms big and no problem with keeping house warm .

We stayed at the Hemmel last August with our 2 daughters and his year my parents came along too.. We all had an amazing, peaceful and relaxing holiday! I would highly recommend this cottage as it was such a comfortable, central cottage for loads of places to visit.

The Hemel is a pleasant rural barn conversion, bright and quite spacious.. It’s a working farm and some mornings things started early. We had good sunny weather, we really enjoyed looking around Northumberland - there are plenty of fascinating castles, country houses and coastal areas to explore as well as the national park areas. Some days in the late afternoon sunshine we enjoyed relaxing in our private grassed area. The sheep in the adjacent field kept us entertained, from time to time there was a rattle or thud from the nearby Otterburn Ranges. Overall we felt this was a relaxing and peaceful setting, providing that you enjoy a rural holiday cottage. We did have a couple of issues which the owner promptly responded to - but be aware that there is no mobile phone signal, so contacting anyone by phone is difficult.

Had a fabulous stay at The Hemel, couldn't have wished for a better location.. very rural and based in a small hamlet with lovely views and very friendly people. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable..the leather reclining settees a definate benefit for chilling out on an evening..the beds are very comfortable and everything you need for your stay is included..copious amounts of hot water - always appreciated for those who like a hot bath. The owner Bernie couldn't have been more helpful and the directions given were spot on. All in all this is a little bit of rural heaven and an escape from reality.

We returned again after being to The Hemmel at new year, again it is just a fantastic holiday cottage and would recommend this to anyone.. The surroundings are beautiful and is such a peaceful and relaxing place. We did many walks and the views are spectacular. This time we were fortunate to have many clear skies on an evening and the stars were breathe taking. We will be booking again in the future.

Stayed here for a week. What a fabulous place. Really quiet and beautifully appointed in such a peaceful location. Beds were really warm with top quality bedding. Everything had been thought of for a perfect stay. Lovely touch were the chocolates and Prosecco. Hot water on tap at all times. Garden was simple but a lovely position so your views were fantastic. Thoroughly recommended and hope to stay again sometime
