The Hemel is a pleasant rural barn conversion, bright and quite spacious.. It’s a working farm and some mornings things started early. We had good sunny weather, we really enjoyed looking around Northumberland - there are plenty of fascinating castles, country houses and coastal areas to explore as well as the national park areas. Some days in the late afternoon sunshine we enjoyed relaxing in our private grassed area. The sheep in the adjacent field kept us entertained, from time to time there was a rattle or thud from the nearby Otterburn Ranges. Overall we felt this was a relaxing and peaceful setting, providing that you enjoy a rural holiday cottage.
We did have a couple of issues which the owner promptly responded to - but be aware that there is no mobile phone signal, so contacting anyone by phone is difficult.
