Living over three floors won't suit everyone, and if you need to visit the toilet during the night, you'll have to go down a flight of stairs. The photographs make the accommodation look considerably larger than it is, four people will probably feel rather claustrophobic and parking is very tight if you are parking anything larger than a Suzuki Ignis. The balcony is advertised as a 'feature' but why anyone would want to sit on it, overlooking nothing but dirty rooves, is beyond me. Despite what other reviews have said, the Phone signal (02) is acceptable and the bed in the master bedroom now has two mattress protectors, so no way of knowing whether or not the mattress is still stained, without more meticulous investigation! The bed is quite firm. No proper ironing board is provided, a bit silly when a washer/dryer IS provided. By the way, you have to run a cable from the kitchen to the washing machine under the stairs, in order to get power to it. The bus stops outside and the location is relatively quiet. There is a Post Office selling newspapers and provisions about five minutes away (gentle uphill walk on the way there). Bring slippers, there are cold flag stones on the ground floor. The accommodation was clean, but the bath is very small and only hand towels are provided. The Wi-Fi is good and the TV receives Freeview channels. For larger supermarkets you will need to go to Ulverston (Booths) or Kendal (Asda, Morrisons, but the latter means having to negotiate the awful one way system). You can get more basic provisions in Grange over Sands and a train trip to Arnside or Ulverston can be pleasant. No recycling facilities provided, which is a little behind the times. The title of this review says it all. Thank you for reading.
