The lodge is in need of some TLC.. Examples include damaged bathroom sink, dishwasher and hot tub lid holder. The DVD buzzed annoyingly. Some of the kitchen equipment is in a poor state, particularly the pans. We found it bizarre that there was a washing machine but no airer. Towels were small and thin. There were no hot tub towels or dressing gowns. We wondered whether the owner has ever lived in the lodge. For example there were no hooks to hang towels and no electricity point near a mirror so drying/curling hair was very difficult. Also the information pack was poor with no information on local facilities, recommendations for dining and walks etc. The visitor book was full and had not been changed since last year. All of this seems a great shame as the lodge is a good size, secluded and in a nice setting. A small amount of effort could make it really nice.

Holiday home was dirty on arrival.. Floor was filthy with mud and dog hair from previous guests. Brushed floor myself then asked cleaning staff to return, they hoovered floor but did not mop. Normally I would not be bothered by this but due to current global pandemic and having to mop lodge floors myself I didn't feel this was acceptable. This is no complaint to owner of lodge, he is under the impression that more cleaning is being undertaken at present as stated to me on the phone when he informed me about key collection and probably paying extra and unfortunately this is just not the case.

We had a lovely relaxing break.. Great to be able to chill out in the hot tub at the end of each day. Very comfortable lodge with everything you need and the nearby village of Cartmel is charming.

We stopped incartmel lodge.. It was beautiful, clean and very spacious. Watching the wildlife walk by (deer) just yards away from us was a great experience. If you want to get away from it all and completely relax this Is the place to go

Lovely lodge close to the beautiful village of Cartmel which is a 20minute walk away.. Lodge was spacious and comfortable and hot tub was great. Just a couple of improvements based on previous experiences in places like this. Mainly those extra touches for example there was no hand soap provided, no little things like salt and pepper/ oil etc No welcome bottle of wine. So you do have to bring everything you can think of whereas other places these are provided. Hot tub lights broken and no shelter meaning on the day/night of the storm we couldn’t use it. Would be perfect on a summers day though! Overall it’s a lovely place and we’d go again, just missing the little extra touches.

We absolutely loved our stay.. The Lodge was very clean and very well equipped. The hot tub was amazing and very private too. Have the private patio area at the back and side it was perfect for our dog to wonder around safely too. Would definitely recommend to anyone; we will certainly be stopping again!

Directions to the property were spot on, location central for our planned day trips.. Hot tub naturally was a favourite of the whole party. Spacious rooms, very good heating system, important in winter.

We had the most amazing Christmas break.. The lodge was perfect in every way and the hot tub was a fabulous treat over the festive break. Steve was available if needed and helped out on our arrival when the TV wasn't working correctly. A beautiful site set in a lovely location. We will definitely return.

Fabulous time at Cartmel Lodge.. The lodge itself is beautiful and actually much bigger than it looks on the photos. The location was fantastic, close to Cartmel, Windermere and countless beautiful places to walk. The lodge was clean, comfortable, nice and warm and lots of space for our dog to wander. The deck is secure too which was great as he was able to wander around and lay in the sun while we were in the hot tub and I didn't have to worry about him getting out. The facilities were also perfect, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook a meal to enjoy with friends and there are two bathrooms so no waiting for your turn. Would give this place 10 out of 10 and will definitely be staying again.

Really nice lodge, very well furnished and plenty of room.. Hot tub was great as it was private with easy access. Beds and pillows were a little uncomfortable but not the end of the world. Overall really great stay in a lodge walkable distance from the town and close driving distance to the lakes.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and couldn't believe the high standard of the cabin. Hot tub was so clean and very private. Whole place was lovely and clean and the cabin is totally worth the money we paid. The owners thought of everything and so much was included. Would definitely stay again.

The lodge is absolutely stunning! We stayed for 3 nights with our dog and would strongly recommend it. The location is beautiful and there are many walks in the local area. The only slight downside is that the bed was too firm for us but as I said, the only downside!

Really lovely weekend, couldn’t be happier! Booked as a surprise for my partner for his birthday and he was extremely pleasantly surprised. Hot tub was spacious, clean and a perfect place to sit on a chilly night and star gaze. With no light pollution, we had never seen so many and it made for a perfect evening, or two! Kitchen had 99% of things needed to make any meal and what it didn’t have you could get by with so no drama cooking big scrumptious meals instead of eating out. And the dish washer made the experience a pleasure relaxing together afterwards instead of standing over a sink for 40 minutes. Bed spacious and comfortable. I took some spare loo roll and we needed it by the second day. There was a small amount of tea and coffee, hot chocolate, and sugars so the local shop was ideal for stocking up on bits needed. I did an online shop and had it delivered right to the door of the lodge with was perfect. Kevin on site is very kind and will visit you to say hi and give you his number for wood deliveries for the log burner. The owner is very helpful and replied to my few queries with haste. Overall, amazing weekend, very comfortable, very relaxing and would 100% book this lodge for our next weekend away. Thank you to all that helped me organise it and then helped us enjoy it.

We booked this trip as a belated Christmas celebration and we weren’t disappointed at all with either the location, facilities or accommodation.. We had such a lovely stay and could not fault this lodge at all, in fact, it went beyond our expectations. We have immediately recommended it to friends and family and will continue to do so.

December 2018
This was an idyllic lodge in the heart of the Lake District.. It was quiet and peaceful and just what we were looking for for our Christmas get away this year. Directions were perfect and easy to follow. Hot tub was a great extra, even in the middle of December. The whole process from booking to arrival was easy and Steve (owner) was easy to contact and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely lodge clean and great location just short walk from Cartmel .. Bbq absolutely filthy so never used which was a shame and toilet roll holder broke but apart from this great.just needs a little tlc but overall fantastic

August 2018
The lodge is probably in need of a little bit of general TLC.. The bathroom fittings need re-fixing properly to the walls eg: toilet roll holder was completely off. The BBQ had been left absolutely filthy by whoever had last used it so we were unable to use that at all. The cost was not inexpensive, we paid just under £1,000 for 4 nights so I think that although nothing major these are things that definitely need to be looked at and that the BBQ should have been cleaned before we arrived as was the lodge itself. Thank you

June 2018
Great place lovely lodge when we arrived there was dog hair on the main bed and the bedroom carpet, the en suite smelt of sewredge.. The weather was so hot so would recommend a few pedestal fans left in the cupboard as it became stifling in the lodge day and night which probably magnified the problem with the drains smelling as bad as it did but the lodge itself was really nice also really good location in close proximity to the safari park lake windamere and grange over sands enjoyed the experience and would recommend the lodge

Just a couple if things that need attention in the lodge .... Just a couple if things that need attention in the lodge The shower pole comes out and feels like its goung to fall on your head and the seal is ripped causing a little leak It was absolutely freezing on arrival and everything felt a little damp the heating being on would have been a better start Apart from that it was an absolutely lively place to stay if not a little remote but the seclusion was needed

We were hoping to book a 3 night stay ( the only 3 nights available from June to September) price quoted to us by one email to confirm availability was £372( (£124 per night) however the next email to proceed with the booking the price quoted was £864! After ringing Sykes Cottages direct and speaking to a representative called Thomas we were told that the lowest possible price was £764! When Trip Advisor was mentioned he informed us that their prices are 'averaged' ?? and do not reflect the actual price! Very disappointed! We have used Trip Advisor many times to book holidays and have never encountered this ' price hike' before. Beware!

The lodge is beautiful and really homely, there are just a couple of things I would point out. The dishwasher was full of scum and hair when we arrived so we had to clean this out also the decking out the back of the lodge was dangerously slippy we had to hose and brush this town as there was a few near misses, nothing a good pressure wash won't solve. I would with out a doubt return to this lodge. I would have given 5 if it wasn't for those 2 little things :)

December 2015
A great lodge, perfect for any family or couple. Cartmel lodge is in a great location and the village is only 20 minutes walk from the property. The lodge is well equipped with all the mod-cons and a great log stove. The hot tub also helped make it the perfect holiday. We would recommend to anyone wanting a trip to the Lake district and have already booked another week for ourselves in April .

Great Lodge with everything you need for a trip to the Lake District and more . The lodge was fully equipped with everything you will need for any family and couple and then finished off with a log Stove and Hot Tub . Added perks all over the lodge and surrounding area. Cartmel village was only 20 minutes walk away and this was the perfect Lake District village and with Windermere only 20 minutes drive away you couldn't have picked a perfect location . Booked another week within 3 hours of being in the lodge so good luck trying to book this Lodge up as it seems everyone who goes books again for the following year.

Just back from a lovely week at this lodge. Lodge is very modern and well equipped with the added bonus of a hot tub on the veranda. The beds were really comfortable and made up for your arrival. Towels were also included. A very quiet site in an ideal location to explore the lake district and Morecambe coast area. It is on the Meadows End area of The Pastures lodge park close to Cartmel. There are about 10 lodges in this bit of the park which are mostly part of the Hoseasons Autograph collection. This lodge is privately owned. It has the added bonus of excellent wifi which is great because the mobile signal is poor. Great lodge would recommend it.
