The property is in the centre of Norfolk roughly equally distance from the east, west and north coasts. It is reached by a couple of miles of single track road. At the start of this road there is a Co-op so you can pick up provisions. The Hayloft is the top half of the building you see in the photographs so anyone with mobility issues would struggle particularly as the doorway between the lounge and bedroom is extremely low and anyone above average build would have problems using the shower room / wc. Other than that it is a comfortable accommodation with everything you need in the kitchen and a wood burner in the lounge. The only issue I found was that the Information Book was not on view and when we eventually found it there was information that was out of date.

I have stayed at The hayloft a couple of times now, and have found the hospitality and facilities most welcoming.. The hosts provide accurate directions, and arrangements for key collecting etc. are very helpful. Every facility is available making the stay most enjoyable. The location lends itself to explore many attractions, and as I was also visiting friends in Swaffham, very convenient in distance. The position of The hayloft is within a quiet and relaxing environment, just what is needed for a "get away" holiday. I can wholly recommend The hayloft, although as the listing do mention, the steps for access are very steep, and can have some limitations for some people.

We booked this cottage on the understanding it had wifi (we needed to keep in touch with a disabled member of family) It had no wifi on the day we arrived and wifi was not available until the day before we left.. We were told that wifi was available at McDonald's some miles away. Despite our hosts being charming people this was a major problem Upon our return we have seen that previous guests have had the same problem

July 2018
Sadly, we had to leave the cottage early.. We found the general site lacking in attention. The stairs to the cottage were open tread, and in need of some repairs. We were led to believe that our dog would have plenty of space to run, but this was not the case, we were instructed to keep him on a lead whenever we were outside. Outside needed some care and attention, broken flower pots at the entrance to the cottage, just one small example. The cottage was very small, this was not a problem in itself, but the shower was only about two feet square, i couldn't even bend down to wash my feet, (no, my wife and I are not overweight, I am 12 stone my wife 11! It is not somewhere we would recommend. We left early, partly for domestic reasons, and partly because of our dis-satisfaction with the cottage, such a shame. Tony Tomkinson

A truly fantastic place to stay, a very warm welcome from Tony when we arrived. Milk in the fridge for a cuppa tea, and even biscuits. The Hayloft is in the perfect location for touring Norfolk, and in a very quiet location. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, dishes etc that you will ever need. We will go back sometime in the summer and enjoy the patio that overlooked the brook. All in all a beautifully maintained Hayloft and surroundings. Even though we got our check out day wrong, Tony and his wife were extremely nice about it,. We will be back.

Loved this holiday rental. Lovely accommodation, all you need for a base to come back to after a day exploring. Owners very friendly and helpful. Situated on a farm with horses, hens and 'laughing ducks'. Your own private space outside. Ours was a decked area by the stream that runs through the property with a small summerhouse. Table and chairs for 2 to have a glass of wine in the sun. Nearest pub and shop a car ride away, approx 2 miles. We used the Windmill to eat on a couple of occasions. Norwich not far away, lovely place to visit. A trip on the broads is a must. I would use this rental again and recommend it to others.

October 2014
Very comfortable and cosy accommodation to return to each day. Lovely setting on farm of horses, chickens, rabbits and 'laughing ducks'. Stream running in front of Hayloft and Haybarn accommodation. Each apartment has it's own private garden. We had the summer house and decking with tables and chairs facing well kept lawn, bridge over stream and willow tree. Tranquil and peaceful stay. Easy access to Norwich and Wroxham where we had a trip on the broads. Norwich is a lovely city, you need plenty of time to explore, so much to see. A maze of cobbled streets and interesting shops plus castle and museum. Visited old friends in Swaffam and family in Holbeach. Enjoyed every minute of our week. Very friendly welcome from the owner of the property.

Though a little off the beaten track, the location is actually very convenient for touring by car. The accommodation is well-appointed, comfortable and provides a relaxing, rural atmosphere in the evenings. The owners are on hand and very helpful. The only real drawback is the provision of a breakfast bar with high stools instead of a kitchen table and chairs (no room for the latter). We recommend the accommodation highly and would re-book if on holiday in the area again.

The absolute peace and relaxation of the location of the property. We take our dog and there is access granted by the local farmers to the many fields straight from the door. Friendly greeting. Very quiet and pretty surroundings.Well equiped but the bed was a little hard. We also think that the kitchen stools would have been better with backs and padded seats to them. Loved the eggs. Good base for touring.

October 2010
The hosts were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I enjoyed the company of the chickens and geese and especially visits from the family cat. The situation of the cottage was rural enough to feel that you were completely away from everything but only a few miles away from either town, city or coast.
