Area
Situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, mid way between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District is the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale. This market continues on a weekly basis every Thursday and offers a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive shops in the town as well as the many 17th and 18th Century buildings. The picturesque Lune Valley was popular with the artist Turner and is host to the medieval Devil's Bridge that spans the river. There are also a number of other activities including golf, tennis, riding, fishing as well as a variety of riverside and country walks.

Absolutely loved the place.. Only drawback for people in their 70s like us was the circular staircase which would be difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Otherwise it was superb and spotlessly clean. Well equippe and spacious. Well heated.

Lovely, spacious cottage in a beautiful setting.. The owners live next door and are really friendly and helpful. The spiral staircase presented a bit of a problem for my elderly dog but we coped! The kitchen was particularly well equipped which is always nice. Fabulous views of surrounding countryside.

Unique spacious accommodation with a quirky layout and everything you need for a break away in a peaceful location.. Owners are adjacent and were welcoming and helpful if needed but otherwise unobtrusive. Comfortable beds and sofas, clean and well equipped kitchen, clean and modern compact shower room with good shower. Good location for peace and quiet with beautiful views but in short distance of many places to visit and for amenities. Lovely stay for the whole family including our dog.

There is now a laundry room for this property with a washing machine and tumble dryer.. We found the cottage very comfortable for our two week stay, clean bedding and towels were provided at the end of the first week. The owners who live adjacent to the property we're very helpful . We highly recommend this property.

A lovely quiet rural location.. Despite the cold and wet weather, the hosts were great at providing solutions; bringing us extra heaters and a drying rack. I would highly recommend this if you want to get away from it all

We really enjoyed out short break at Th Granary.. My young grandson loved the stables, the owners were really lovely and were there if needed but didn’t intrude. The views were stunning. The kitchen was just what a family needed large table to laugh and giggle round. If you have young children there is a spiral staircase but with innovative thinking this didn’t prove too much of problem. Beds are very very comfortable. Shower room compact but does the job. On the whole this is a great base to explore everywhere, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire as you can be in each county in minutes. Although the weather was cracking the flags we did everything we had planned to. Many thanks to the Capsticks

The Granary Cottage is excellent, everything in the cottage and grounds was lovely.. A long walk to the nearest town Kirby Longsdale which is very nice, if it's hot take your swimming stuff with you and swim in the river. The owners of The Granary are very nice and welcoming, would definitely visit again.

The cottage was clean and tidy with plenty of space. It was far enough away to feel like an escape but close enough to make it simple to get provisions etc. The outlook was lovely - hills and dales all round. The owners are lovely, friendly, helpful and not at all intrusive - just right.

A quiet and peaceful cottage- based on a farm but not particularly affected by it. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with easy access to all of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Walks from the cottage as well. Birds of prey are common sights along with other wildlife all around. Stargazing at night is lovely. Facilities are good but the toilet/shower room might be a little small for 6 people. Bedrooms are spacious and have plenty of storage - kitchen dining area is of ample size. Would benefit from a washing machine for longer stays. Close to both small and large towns for shopping/provisions etc. Owners are perfect - friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

Lovely cottage/barn conversion.. It was roomy and comfortable with lovely views and good access to walks and the farm, which is great for kids. The owners are really nice and welcoming people, they couldn't be any nicer, top marks. Also, its not too far from Kirby town, so supplies are easily at hand. Very nice, really enjoyed it.

Nice quite country location, comfortable barn, lovely owners. The negative things for us were no Internet, limited TV stations, no washer or dryer, hence 4 out of five marks.
