Other reviews spoke of a warm welcome upon arrival, we didn't get this, in fact although the owner shook hands with and spoke to me, he didn't even look at or acknowledge my partner. My partner noticed this in particular and thought it was just rude. We have no idea why. We had to wash cooking utensils before using them, there was also bits of hair and dirt in the drawer of the kitchen units. The cullender had green stuff on the bottom of it, so whoever had previously been there had not washed up properly and there's even a dishwasher. So there's really no reason for it not to be clean. The microwave was also in a filthy state with bits of food splattered inside it. There were cobwebs by the fire extinguisher and down the back of one of the bedside cabinets. Additionally, the walkway down to the property is very treacherous, particularly after it's rained, it was rather slippery and one of the steps appears to have broken in two and when I stepped on it, part of it slid from under my foot because of the wet soil/muddy texture underneath and I almost lost my footing. This needs to be rectified, it's only a matter of time before someone does fall, particularly if it's wet. The final thing is that we could not see anywhere to put, or any instructions where to put, our rubbish, nor the dog's poo bags. Consequently, we ended up leaving our rubbish in black bags inside the doorway and I had to leave the dog poo bagged up outside, with the little bags all bagged up in a bigger bag. This is not what we would normally do on a holiday, but we could not find anything in the information folder in regard to this. If it is in there, it needs to be made clearer. Or place suitable bins by the cottage for this. Based on our experience, we won't be returning.

Stayed here a couple of years ago, and boy, what a fabulous place. Peace and solitude is the order of the day here. Escape to this wonderful cottage and all your worries and stresses disappear. We took our two dogs who had as good a time as we did, with long walks and plenty to explore in the woods behind the cottage. Everything but everything was provided other than, of course, food. No negatives about the place at all. Driving distance to the coast, and the rest of South Wales, through some stunning countryside. Wod definitely recommend, and will return one day soon.

Great cottage everything you could ever want , brilliant views you could sit on the newly made decking and watch the red kites flying above.. Nice lanes all around so you could have a different walk every night and hardly any passing cars . The owner Steve lived nearby and was so helpful and friendly as were his dogs Dudley & Harvey. Cardigan, Aberaeron , Lampeter , New Quay ,Laugharne and Saundersfoot were all lovely places to visit . If you want to get away to peace & quiet you can't beat this beautiful part of Wales . We will return .

Found the host very helpful, also offered to go to town for us for provisions.. We were on a motorbike and he let us keep it in his garage. The cottage was quaint and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and chocolates, what a lovely touch.

Steve was a most excellent host and couldn’t do enough for us when we asked.. Taliharris is an ideal getaway for you and your dogs a real home from home with everything you could need provided for. The decked area adjacent to the cottage is ideal for a coffee or glass of wine overlooking the countryside soaking up the last of the sun at the end of the day. Brechfa Forest is only a short drive away and the beaches are worth a visit, Poppit Sands allows access for dogs year round and the cafe is worth a visit after a walk.
