Contact with owner was by phone very pleasent simple and uncomplicated.. I had no issues finding the place, simply google then streetview you will see the main buildings, barn opposite. What I really enjoyed about the barn was it remote enough, you can star gaze at night, which where I live is difficult. Accomodation is well furnished really enjoyed the kitchen and living room layout. Internet worked, on a few occasion dropped out but no real dramas. Children 5 & 6. Near to Shrewsbury but I do enjoy the clean good standard, with a local friendly village. I shall come again maybe with friends as a couple or as a group wanting to ramble and explore local trails?

The cottage was lovely and we would definitely recommend it.. We loved the awesome views out of all the windows and the friendly cows in the next field! As a family of walkers we appreciated the large boot room with plenty of space to dry clothes and hang coats. The only small drawback was finding the place! The cottage did not appear to have a house name at all and sat nav took us to the wrong cottage. I rang the owner and he got us there in the end! We will definitely consider returning. The cottage and area are wonderful.

The situation of the cottage is very pleasantly rural, surrounded by fields with attractive views to the Shropshire hills.. A property sign close to the main road would be helpful especially in approaching from Burlton direction as the driveway to Swallow Barn is on a corner and screened by the high hedge. The property is well furnished and comfortable and very clean. We only things we really missed were having a teapot and milk jug!

A really nice cottage in a great rural location to use as a base for the surrounding area.. The owner Geoff was a great guy and made sure everything was just right. Recommended.

PROs - lovely setting, beautifully decorated, and very clean and tidy.. Living room was much larger than expected from the photos which was a bonus. Owner was very friendly and helpful when I needed to contact him. Good supply of essentials: washing up liquid, toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll, etc. A good selection of DVDs and local activity info pamphlets were provided. CONs - mostly well equipped, but there was no tumble drier, and crockery was a bit sparse (only 3 bowls for 4 people). Beds were very hard and we didn’t find them comfortable. WiFi access was very poor. We contacted the owner about this, and he was very helpful, but in the end, we learned that we just needed to reboot it several times a day, sometimes several times an hour. This was frustrating when trying to skype home to my husband when we would lose internet repeatedly during the same call or when trying to research, book, and pay for activities. There was no information provided in the barn regarding things like recycling and what to do with rubbish. Being a bungalow, we didn’t feel safe having the windows open at night, as there was no way to safely lock them just partially open, so in this current summer heat, we were uncomfortably warm at night.

We do think that a small washing machine would be a useful addition to the property: we did find the distance quoted to the nearest shop was greatly underestimated and would have been impossible for us to walk to and back each morning.. Not knowing the area at all we did find the property somewhat isolated but that is a chance one takes of course. Overall it was a very comfy property and we did enjoy watching the sheep!
