Holiday home
Sunnybrae is a modern, end-terraced cottage in an elevated position above the River Esk on the outskirts of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. Boasting two double bedrooms and one single (with a pull-out bed) as well as a family bathroom, this cottage can sleep up to six people. The rest of the cottage is made up of a kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room. To the outside is a decked rear patio with garden furniture, a communal lawned area and off road parking for one car. Being just one mile from the centre of Whitby, and on the edge of the North Yorks Moors National Park, Sunnybrae is the perfect holiday home for exploring the delights of this region.

Three bedrooms: 2 x double (one with balcony), 1 x single bed. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room.

Area
The ancient fishing port of Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire with its superb coastline and the spectacular North York Moors. Whitby is a charming and atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Parking is available at free car park next to property but no allocated space. Small, private rear decked patio with furniture, plus communal lawned garden. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 10 mins walk, pub 1 mile. Note: Property suitable for max. 5 people, inc. infants. As of 22nd February 2021 this property will accommodate 5 people, existing bookings for 6 will still be honoured

We checked into sunnybrae on 30th September & wow what an amazing modern cottage this is,situated in an area with beautiful scenery & only 1 mile from Whitby, the cottage is spotlessly clean with plenty of space in all of the rooms,lovely & quiet as well,we will definitely be booking again

As a family of 6(4 adults, 16yr and 9yr old) we found Sunnybrae to be the perfect base for a visit to Whitby and the surrounding areas.. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The kitchen is modern and has everything you need, Bedrooms are comfortable our 9yr old used the put up bed and found it to be just as comfortable as any other bed and there's plenty of wardrobe space in all 3. The bathroom is big and the shower is very good(decent water pressure) we had plenty of towels provided for our stay. The cottage is one of around 14/15 properties sharing parking space for approx 18 vehicles and during our stay we always found a space for our van. We had a brilliant weekend at Sunnybrae and would not hesitate booking a break there again.

It felt even better than expected from seeing the site pictures once we arrived there, and what a lovely place to walk into after our journey.. Loved all the facilities in the house and thought it such a welcoming place. The scenery was stunning looking around outside and immediately felt we were on a real holiday, ready to explore the area. Had a really good chance being in this location to go for plenty of walks along the cinder path and elsewhere, and to get to know Whitby, plus get a taste for North Yorkshire in general. It was great going on the steam train on the North York Moors Railway, and being by the river Esk it afforded us the excitement of seeing the trains go past. Loved every minute of our time there have to say. Thumbs up.

Good basic accommodation within a 20 minute walk of Whitby.. Great setting and a bonus to have parking. In winter months would need to use a car as the footpaths are not lit up and there are no pavements on the final stretch of narrow winding road to the development. Would stay there again In the summer.

An extremely clean and well furnished property on the outskirts of Whitby.. Quiet location on a holiday complex with three separate areas of properties. Everything we required for a restful week, parking wifi fully equipped kitchen and walking from the door.

Fabulous apartment had everything we needed for our 5 day stay.. If you want to walk it’s about 25 minutes into town or a taxi is around £6 if you aren’t there in bank holiday season. Perfect base for visiting Whitby and surrounding areas. Parking is sometimes an issue at busy times.

Nice clean good sized property on the outskirts of Whitby yet only 25 minutes walk along the "cinder path" into the centre of Whitby.. Owners left a nice welcome pack of milk ,bread & lovely biscuits. Appeared to be freshly decorated all round , nice quite location with good views , would recommend as a good base for visiting the Whitby area

Superb holiday, very relaxing and stress free, Riverside View is situated in an idyllic spot, lovely views the Esk valley, Viaduct and of the Railway line where Steam trains travel along into Whitby.. There is also a nice walk into Whitby which is approximately a mile and a half distance along the Viaduct and cinder path. We couldn't recommend this place enough, its fab, also centrally placed for all neighbouring places to visit. 10/10. We will be back. The Website pictures doesn't do the property justice.

The property was immaculate, beautifully furnished and very comfortable indeed.. I was given a "welcome pack" consisting of tea,coffee, bread, milk and biscuits which I thought was a beautiful touch. The location of the cottage was perfect and so very quiet too to allow a relaxing break in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.Perfect for walking and relaxing .

A home from home. It was so clean so cared for, took my 99 year old aunt as a birthday treat and she loved every single second. She didn't want to leave and asked if we could return. So perfect. Nothing negative at all. Thank you, will recommend but would like it to be a secret!
