Disappointed. Pics look a lot nicer than it is. Bedrooms were small with small squeaky uncomfortable beds. A lack of a family bathroom upstairs was an issue for a large group ( there is only an on-suite upstairs). Can only fit 8 round the table. Cutlery kept breaking. Only 4 wine glasses. The games room had a child sized pool table and we couldn't find the white ball. The outside has old furniture and not as well kept as the pics. There was sheep droppings everywhere. Couldn't sit outside for long as midges everywhere which we think came from the overgrown pond at the back so we all got bitten Nice location overlooks zipworld and ample parking but overall very disappointed and not worth the money.

The property does not have sufficient toilets and bathrooms. It's unusual not to have at least 2 bathrooms for a property that sleeps so many people. Also a tumble dryer would have been really helpful. The owner is very nice and helpful and we really appreciated the welcome goodies. Just a few tweaks and it would be perfect.

This place is fantastic, so spacious and perfect for a big group of people. We were a group of friends who travelled from Manchester and London for a weekend get-together to celebrate a couple of birthdays. It was a very easy and quick drive from Manchester, and great value for the weekend. Great facilities for cooking, and loads of parking space for cars. Good location right next to zip world, and also near to several places to go for a good hike. Unfortunately due to the weather we ended up spending most of the weekend in the house and not outdoors as we'd hoped, but it is a fantastic place to spend time! Good TV with Sky/ Netflix etc, and the games room kept us entertained. Plus the host Sharon was extremely helpful and called to check we had arrived okay, and was very happy to allow us a late check out. We are very keen to return in summer so we can enjoy the outdoors a bit more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away, even though the weather wasn’t shining.. The location of the lodge was a surprise a 5 minute walk to bounce Below and tour around the slate mines. Also a short walk to local town. Then lodge was clean and spacious and would recommend for a group. Thank you for letting us stay.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Sting Lodge.. Not only was there more than enough space for 5 children to run around and play, but there was ample sleeping arrangements for our party of 6 adults and 5 children (my grand children). The kitchen is very well equipped with a lovely range stove, microwave, dishwasher and large enough fridge/freezer combo - the washing machine was an added bonus. The large table could seat our extended family comfortably. The lounge is spacious and provides a flat screen TV with basic Sky access as well as a wood burning stove that provided the extra heat required on very cold evenings. There is an adjacent games room which the kids enjoyed, but this was a bit cold as it does not have a central heating radiator. New owners have recently taken over and it is clear that they intend improving the property, so it can only get better!! Well recommended.
