The castle sits atop a low ridge overlooking the expansive Taf River Estuary. Lovely strolls around the castle grounds reward visitors with stunning views of the estuary and can be followed by cream teas in quaint tea rooms, pints in the local pub, or souvenir shopping at the castle's mini market. Pendine, a nearby beach known for its flat, seven-mile stretch, has been the site of many world land speed records. Tenby and Saundersfoot, both on the coast, are also within driving distance. There are wonderful day trips to be had at nearby castles, mills, and craft centres, and the area is conducive to strolling at any time of year.
