I loved all the extras provided by the owner - a welcome hamper with fresh bread, eggs, luxury biscuits and butter, milk in the fridge and local ice cream in the freezer.. And then to find a fully stocked Nespresso machine! Even such things as a stock of good quality toilet rolls - it was extras like these that show real thought and care.

Smithy Cottage is a comfortable and cosy cottage, beautifully appointed and well equipped (and the car parking space is very convenient).. The location is fantastic for walking from the door, and Bradwell has a great range of facilities. We were delighted by the welcome pack with local goodies!

The moment you step through the door it puts a big hug round you with its cosines.. It is a beautiful cottage which has been furnished to a high standard. Thoughtfully done with love. There was a lovely welcome basket too. Great location to explore the beautiful Peak District. Lots of amenities in the village including good pubs. .

This is the first time we have booked the cottage for a week as previous visits to the cottage have been a few days and this time over the Christmas period.. I honestly cannot fault this cottage at all. Myself and my husband were welcomed by a wonderful Christmas hamper and the living room was decorated with a Christmas tree. The cottage was absolutely immaculate in every room and added bonus of a parking space right in front too. The village of Bradwell is wonderful and we went to the annual rubber duck race on Boxing Day, great fun and although the local Co-op was having a refurb there were plenty of other grocery shops and deli's in the local area. I would highly recommend this wonderful cottage and myself and my husband would like to thank the owners for making our Christmas stay a very pleasant one. We will definitely return to this cottage without hesitation.

The house was compact, nicely decorated and very well equipped.. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was very good. The location was perfect to visit Castleton, Longshaw, Ladybower Reservoir, Bakewell and The Monsal Trail. There was a lot of information inside the house about places to visit The owner was very helpful and welcoming. Smithy Cottage was excellent value for money and we would definitely return there in the future.

We had a really lovely 9 days in Smithy Cottage.. The kitchen is really well-stocked, and although it is a very small cottage it is perfect for two people. And though the parking is challenging to negotiate, we got good at it by the end of our stay and we really appreciated the dedicated parking space as it is a tiny village with very small and steep streets. Having our own parking made that very easy to deal with. There is a lovely garden out back as well and we really appreciated the mid-week linen change.

Excellent cottage.. Very high standard of decor, cleanliness and well equipped. On arrival there was a lovely luxury welcome hamper with lots of local goodies. A really nice touch. The cottage was dressed with a Christmas tree and decorations that made it feel special for the season. All instructions are very clear and well thought out. A great location for exploring the area. The village was very welcoming and everyone we met said hello and was very friendly

The cottage, although compact, has been well thought out with everything you need to enjoy your stay.. The cottage is located in a narrow lane on a steep hill and access for some might need to be taken into consideration. However Bradwell is lovely, friendly village with a shop and places to eat in walking distance. Definitely a place we would want to return to and we would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

What an absolutely wonderful cottage.. Absolutely immaculate inside, we thought we were the first ones in there and as soon as we walked in the door we felt like we were at home. A lovely welcome pack from the owners too. We would highly recommend this cottage for a short break or even a fortnights holiday as being in Bradwell it is in a perfect location to explore the whole of the Peak District. I would recommend adding onto the description although it has its own parking space due to being in a small lane with surrounding houses it may be worth mentioning the size of the space as we were going to bring our transporter van but luckily brought the car instead as the van would never had fitted into the parking space due to turning in and out of the cottage. Also because of other cars parking in the lane we only could drive one way out but everything else was absolutely perfect.

Cottage was small but was well equipped although it could maybe do with a clothes airer to hang wet clothes on.. Apart from that a lovely and very clean cottage

Fabulous week.. The cottage was lovely. Well appointed and cosy in a very quiet location. The welcome basket was really good. My only suggestion would be a washing line in the garden to be able to dry damp towels in the summer when there is no heating on in the cottage.

Sykes Cottage was small as expected but exceptionally clean and the welcoming hamper was so plentiful and delicious.. Even though the cottage was amongst other houses it was extremely quiet and Bradwell was a good location for touring Derbyshire.

A superb cottage which makes maximum use of limited space.. The quality of equipment, crockery, cutlery, towels etc is way above average even given the very high standard of Sykes cottages. Highly recommended.

This is a delightful cottage, the quality of the fixtures and fitting makes the cottage feel very homely.. The cottage is in a peaceful village with a couple of shops and pubs, (you are in the Peak District so expect one or two steep inclines).
