We had a lovely time.. Location was perfect - close enough to access the places we wanted to visit easily, but also out of the way enough to feel peaceful. The cottage was great, well-equipped, easy parking and lovely & cosy. We would love to return and would recommend this booking to others.

We had a wonderful week at the cottage which was lovely, stunning views and ideally situated for our walks and visits to places in the area.. We highly recommend this cottage, everything about it was fantastic and totally suited to our needs. We hope to return for another stay at the cottage as soon as possible.

Lovely cottage with gorgeous views.. Good area to be with lots of walks and places of interest within 15 - 45 minutes driving distance. Good places to eat in Tansley and villages nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cosy cottage. We stayed in March and the cottage was warm and inviting with the central heating and the log effect electric fire just glowing.

Fantastic Location.. Near the Peak District but not in the 'tourist hotspots' so you can avoid the crowds. Some great walks from the door. Best of all the fantastic views from the cottage. Very cosy - warm, clean, well equipped, and a comfy bed.

This clean, cosy and comfortable cottage is ideally located for anyone wishing to explore the Peak District’s many attractions or simply wanting a quiet and peaceful place to relax.. The photographs and narrative description on the website accurately reflect what this cottage has to offer. There is a decent sized living room with 3 seater leather settee and drop leaf table. The kitchen is well equipped and perfectly adequate for a short stay. Yes, the bedrooms do have sloping ceilings, but only on one side of the bed. The central heating is very effective, quickly warming all of the rooms. The cottage is located at the top of a hill giving wonderful views across open countryside from both the living room and master bedroom windows. Sally and Paul, the owners, live next door and are friendly and welcoming. Plenty of good pubs and cafes nearby, within short driving distance. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

The feeling of being on top of the world with peace, quiet and amazing views, was just what the doctor ordered.. Owls at dusk were a lovely bonus. Altogether an experience to be repeated as often as possible for recharging the batteries in this busy world.

Barn Cottage at Top Butterley Farm was a great place to spend a week and as a base for exploring the Peak District.. Paul and Sally were most welcoming hosts. Although a working farm, it is only 15 minutes from Matlock and the views from the cottage were fantastic.
