It was a nice thought of the owner to leave a cream tea for our arrival.. And being a cornish man myself it was nice to find a nice bungalow that was central for us to visit family still living in the area. And when you live near a race track, just hearing trains was a pleasure for us..

Our second time here.. We had a great time, dog enjoyed the beach (even at 7.15am!) Friendly host, caretakers and gardener. If the cottages had Wi-Fi (not that it worried us) all feedback would be the highest.

We have been on this site many times in various different cottages, it is a lovely quiet site overlooking the sea and st.. Michaels mount. However this time the Kitchen sides were not clean when we arrived nor was the toilet but that was easily fixed and didn't spoil it for us at all. Again I would like to add that recycling facilities would be a great addition to the site.

Our stay was comfortable, handy for the beach and within motoring distance of Porthleven where mum lives.. I found it especially good as I have arthritis and have difficulty climbing stairs and walking far. We weren't too bothered by the trains, in fact my grandsons really enjoyed watching them. I found the lady who came to clean the bungalows very approachable and helpful, certainly an asset to the business. We would certainly stay here again. With regard to facilities, we would have liked the use of a slow cooker, a full set of saucepans( boiling an egg in a very large pan isn't great) a larger waste bin (too small for six people) and two teaclothes, one for each week that we stayed. We only found instructions to the electric fire and the oven, but there was nothing for the microwave, the dishwasher, the washer or how to work the heating should there be a need.

The chalet interior is tired and needs some TLC, particularly in the bathroo.. The double bed in the front bedroom desperately needs replacing, both base and mattress. We had to sleep on top of the quilt as the springs dug into the body! Three bulbs had blown in the lounge on our arrival but had not been replaced and the shaver point light had blown. Towels were provided for only 4 of our party but none in the front bedroom. We had problems with ants in the kitchen, lounge and back bedroom. A bit of time, effort and more attention to detail is required to maintain the chalet to a suitable standard.

Have been visiting this site for a number of years now but they are really starting to look run down and tired.. externally buildings and gardens look great but internally wear and tear is really starting to show with mould and cracks etc in the shower area and a general untidyness throughout. beds are uncomfortable as they dont seem to have ever been changed. cleanliness is also a major problem - on the surface looked clean enough but soon as you moved anything it was very dirty - especially under cupboards and beds. we were also very disappointed that the cottage didnt have wifi despite it having it in previous years - this could major problems with the children and we had to buy additional data packs at expense so we could still communicate with work , friends etc. it is a shame as we have visited a number of times to this area and especially to these cottages and it may stop us coming back in the future.

Unfortunately it snowed whilst we was down there, but that didn't stop us.. .. But the owners was kind enough to offer a free night's stay incase we was unable to get home.

The accommodation was perfect for our needs.. It was warm, sufficiently equipped etc. Nicely furnished. You could hear the trains but we soon got used to them. Things which would be helpful to change. 3 of the 4 beds need changing. The fridge door needed lifting to close and was very noisy. There is no cleaning equipment in the chalet and being so close to the beach a broom and dustpan for sand would be good. I do appreciate it is possible to get a vacuum on a Tuesday & Thursday from the Store. We come on holiday to Marazion every year and would definitely consider renting again providing the beds were changed.

It might be an idea to mention the trains ! can be quiet noisy wasn't that much of a problem for us once our puppy had got used to them . Being so close to the sea and hearing the waves crash on the beach was fantastic !!
