Lovely spacious comfortable cottage in great location for touring around the Highlands.. The owners were on nearby farm and had fresh eggs and other home made produce if you required it (honesty box).Mountain hares seen daily on front lawn, woodpecker and other birds seen on bird feeders in front of fabulous mountain views.Only problem was that a week was not long enough ! We shall return to this cottage that really made you feel at home.

Creag-na-Sanais is in a stunning location and well placed to explore the Cairngorms and the wider area.. Plenty to do, whether exploring by road, bike or by foot. Owners very friendly, and on hand next door if needed. The cottage was generally well maintained and very comfortable albeit could do with some modernisation with some of the furniture tired. It was generally clean throughout albeit the cooker hood could do with some attention. The heating oil ran out after a couple of days but the owner very quickly tried to deal with this with additional oil and was very apologetic. This didn’t affect us as we had the open fire in the evening and hot water via the immersion heater.

January 2020
Lovely cottage, with everything we needed for our stay and lovely location with great vies and peace and quiet.. The only improvement (as others have also said) would be the TV could do with replacing and a working DVD player would be useful, though we got around the latter using the PS2 that was there. The mattress was very hard, though this is a personal choice, some may like it like that but we ended up buying a mattress topper to make it more comfortable.

The house was warm, spacious and very comfortable, so warm we hardly used the fireplace.. Handy location for biking at Laggan Wolftrax, and the bike storage was greatly appreciated. The shower was fantastic too, i really miss it!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Creag-na-Sanais.. It really is a fantastic cottage set in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The location and scenery are stunning, we especially loved the peace and quiet and being so close to nature. The dining room has windows on three sides giving lovely views across the fields and mountains. The cottage is packed with literature giving great information on local walks and all the many things to see and do in the area and further a field. The owners kindly left milk and delicious cakes for us on our arrival which we thought was a lovely touch. We very much hope to return to this lovely cottage and would recommend it to our friends and family. This truly is an absolute gem of a place. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!

A superb cottage in a great location, it is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The location is superbly quiet and also provides good access to many other areas and much local walking, even from the cottage. The cottage is also on a working farm which means you can enjoy views of the animals, especially lambs in spring. A place that is ultimately fantastically relaxing with comfortable and spacious accommodation and great scenery. As it stands alone you also have privacy which is a bonus. The views from the cottage are outstanding and interesting.

We had a great time in this very clean well equipped cottage. The location was excellent for exploring in many different directions. We were kept well entertained by both the farm and wild animals and birds. We had a friendly welcome with milk in the fridge and some delicious home made cakes. We hope to go again next year as there is still a lot we want to see and do.

June 2015
On the first night you think you are in the middle of nowhere, but so many places are within 20 mins, and major cities in 60-90 mins. The house, this is no cottage, it is huge, is delightful, every need is catered for, the welcome is warm, the house big but cosy, and if the temperature drops the real fire is brilliant, and if it gets really cold, then the nearest distillery is only 10 mins away. Wildlife actually queues up to parade on front of the massive picture windows. It's just too good to keep secret. Phone signal is poor, and Internet non existent. Just what you want.
Mr Arthur
October 2014

August 2014
We had a great time. We are four pensioners who explored the Highlands for the first time. The cottage is a little remote but it was fine for us. There were hares sitting on the front lawn in the evening and in the field across the road there were two deer. While out walking we came across a herd of deer crossing the road in front of us and a red squirrel in the woods. There was no wi-fi but that was a good thing. The family owners were lovely. We would definitely go back again.
Miss Markendale
July 2014
The cottage was fabulous - and it even had a freezer ( which is not mentioned in the details of the cottage ). The views were fantastic, and as my other half said - even if the weather was awful - you would still have a good time looking out of the window. It has a lovely feel about it and you would certainly relax and recharge the batteries here in beautiful surroundings. We had a lovely time here and hope to go back again - hopefully sooner rather than later.
Miss Lenny
June 2014

January 2014
Staying at the Creag-Na-Sanais was a great choice. Peaceful , fantastic scenery and really family friendly. The cottage is kitted out with everything you need. The family who own it made us feel really welcome, but also left us to enjoy our holiday. Our little boy loved seeing and hearing the cows and sheep on their farm everyday. You cant just pop out to a shop, there's a fair bit of driving involved in the highlands but that's the beauty of the Scottish Highlands and around the Cairngorms. The roads are great. There is a fantastic remoteness up in the highlands , we did travel around to lots of different places and did a lot of driving. But it suits us as a family to explore and have that freedom to do so. We love Scotland. Coming from a beautiful part of the country already - cornwall, its a totally different feel and well worth visiting.
Mrs Molyneux
October 2013
Loved the peacefulness and surroundings. A home from home, that was very warm and very comfortable. Everything you needed was in the cottage. We did a lot of travelling, the roads are great, not a lot of cars passing, and the people great too. Loved it, nothing not to like.

The property was extremely spacious and well appointed, spotlessly clean and well laid out. Well kept & presented accommodation, lovely location, nice people. Your grid ref is wrong. We had difficulty finding it and had to knock on doors. The ref should read 640 930 (not 626 930) your ref locates "Lagg (cottage)"

Spent a wet weekend walking the Monaliadth munroes. What a great feeling it was at the end of each day to return to the warmth and comfort of our cottage. It was like a home away from home. Clean, well-equipped, comfortable and, in the brief interludes between downpours, had some of the most stunning views. Our hosts were gracious and very friendly and we would definitely return, albeit at a time of year when we could enjoy the views more!

We liked everything about this cottage, it is clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable, and well-equipped! We have stayed here before and found the owners to be very friendly and always take time out to talk to their guests. The cottage was to a very high standard and what we expected of a high quality rental. It was surrounded by stunning countryside and it also helped that the weather was very good for this part of Scotland in September. The property owners were very nice and could not be more helpful especially when the upstairs lights fused on the night that Scotland beat France 1 - 0 at football!

I was absolutely amazed by this cottage, it had everything that you wanted, and I mean everything. Kitchen was very big and well equipped, wood for the fire and coal if you needed it, but luckily the weather was very good to us. Loved walking down by the river and seeing the deer. The scenery was brilliant. Cottage based in a very good position for Fort William and Inverness where we went dolphin watching at Chanary Point on the Moray Firth. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

We loved the cottage and the location was beautiful. The owners were very friendly. Scotland is a beautiful country and the people are lovely. With so many places to visit, our holiday flew by too quickly.

The owners had thought of everything, we even had a Real Christmas tree fully decorated with lights etc and home made mince pies with brandy butter upon our arrival. This was one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Please let the owners know how impressed we were, we will definitely book through Sykes again - Thank you very much Happy New Year to you all!

The cottage was exceptional. An excellent base for exploring the Scottish Highlands and excellent to return back to. The views from the cottage were wonderful. For a peaceful, relaxing holiday I can think of nowhere better.

This is a beautifully situated, spacious and comfortable property. One of the best I have ever been in. It is well equipped with many thoughtful details, like the bird feeder on the fence and binoculars for watching the birds and wildlife. The panoramic views from this property are wonderful. The surrounding countryside is full of magic. We will certainly go back.
