Area
Killin, in the Breadalbane district, is located on the outskirts of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and across from the breathtaking Falls of Dochart. Stone circles and cup patterns on rocks attest to the presence of a long-ago civilization in this region. St. Fillan, who brought Christianity to Breadalbane in the eighth century, is honoured with a mill that bears his name and with a holiday celebrated annually on the third Tuesday of January. Two prominent families have deep ties to the town: the Campbells and the MacNab. Near the bridge over the falls is the ancient MacNab burial cemetery of Inchbuie, and to the north of the settlement is Finlarig Castle, the Campbell stronghold. The popularity of Killin as a tourist attraction can be directly attributed to the many media productions that have made use of the waterfalls there. As well as its proximity to Loch Tay, the community also boasts a wide variety of restaurants, taverns, and shops. Killin is surrounded on all sides by mountains that are perfect for hiking, including Ben Lawers to the north, Ben More to the west, and Stobinian to the west.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
