Area
Situated in the valley of Strathmore and regarded as the gateway to the Angus Glens, Kirriemuir is a lovely red sandstone town amidst some of Scotland's most unspoiled landscapes. This stunning settlement was the birthplace of the renowned novelist JM Barrie, best known for his children's character Peter Pan who was the subject of the film 'Finding Neverland'. His house is now a museum looked after by the National Trust for Scotland and a statue of 'the boy who never grew up' can be found in the town itself. Another literary landmark is close by in the form of Glamis castle, Shakespeare's setting for his unluckiest of plays, Macbeth. Kirriemuir also hosts an Aviation Museum and the historic Pictish Stones at Meigle as well as hill-walking in the Angus Glens.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Cottage is well situated for access into Dundee It’s reasonably comfortable and lovely and warm with facilities that are acceptable There is no WiFi in this cottage.. The WiFi is in the main house which you connect to and it’s very poor Not what you need with two teenagers .we had to buy them extra data which cost a lot For the price off this cottage I would have expected more and have expected WiFi actually in the cottage

We enjoyed a lovely 4 day break at Natusi Cottage, arriving late on our first night.. Lynette was more than accomodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as perfect as it could be. We would definately stay at the cottage again.

I spent nearly £1600-00 on 4 nights at this cottage as I thought i would treat the family to something special , the reason for paying so much was my expectation was high due the cost of other cottages on your site .. I feel completely ripped off as this cottage did not come up to the £400 per night experience expected . On arrival the owner told us there was no WI FI ...having 2 teenagers in the party wasn't the best start , the cottage was small and cramped and reminded me of a sauna as it was timber clad through out .not to a good standard either , we decided we would make the best of it but here are some of the faults we experienced... cuboards hadn't been cleaned ..fridge filthy ..microwave hadn't been cleaned ..sofa had something sticky on the back of it ..don't believe the place had been cleaned before change over ...no washing up liquid ...no tablets for the dish washer ..no tea coffee salt and pepper ...chewing gum stuck to the bottom of the basin in the sink ...all linen and towels were tired and grey in colour...cushions on sofa thread bare ...kettle needed descaled . The site has a picture of the cottage side on but what it doesn't show is the farm building with farm materials and machinery for you to look out at in the front when you exit the cottage The bottom bedroom was so small you had to push the bed back to get the door closed then there was a sharp bit on the bed that cut my brother in law When the pool was advertised it forgot to mention that it was situated in the owners house some 100 yards from the cottage ,you had to call the owner to make sure you could get in . On New Year's Day we phoned and were told that it was closed but she would open it up for us this was not mentioned when booking , we also run out of toilet paper and were given 1 roll between 6 of us , the whole experience was unprofessional to say the least . I am absolutely fizzing with the fact I paid so much for a place I wouldn't have paid more than £600-00 for now that I have been and experienced the place . I am now waiting to hear what feedback you give me before making my next move ...your website has helped in this deception and you should take some of the responsibility for this debacle . Yours ripped off Alistair Harkness

The house and grounds were lovely.. Pool jacuzzi and sauna were fantastic. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Cottage could be better equipped with utensils in the kitchen. Phone signal was really bad, having to go outside to try and get one. No WiFi or Internet access in cottage but could go upto the main house and get it. This caused problems when trying to sort out places to go and visit.

We all had a lovely time.. Gorgeous surroundings and I could relax when the dog was outside as the garden was very secure. We all enjoyed the lama and pony on the approach to the property. Hot tub and pool were glorious and the family very welcoming. 10 out of 10.

Property potentially very nice but cleanliness unacceptable. Here is the email sent to the agent, the owner did not accept a single point. Are my expectations to high when paying for the privilege to stay in someone's property? As per my telephone conversation with one of your customer service team on Wednesday 3rd October. I phoned to discuss issues with my current stay at Nantusi Cottage that I felt uncomfortable taking up with the owners on site. Being on holiday the last thing I am looking for is conflict which due to the list of complaints potentially could arise. In the telephone call I listed issues that we had experienced since arriving on Saturday 29th September. On arrival we were met by the owners daughter who was very friendly. She advised us that one of the high chairs that we had requested for our ten month old twin boys, had broken straps, and that her father was picking a new chair up. She later dropped this off and asked if I would build it up which at the time left lost for words after paying for the privilege to stay. On trying to assemble I found that a screwdriver was required, this left us with a usable but half built high chair. Cleanliness. On entry to the cottage we noticed balls of dust on the wooden floor (a worry when you have two ten moth old toddlers). We then noticed that the upstairs toilet had faeces marks on the rim of the bowl and both upstairs and downstairs toilets had pubic hair and dust around the rear of where the toilet seats are fixed. The garden had several dog faeces in it. some of which I picked up the others had been there for a while. In the downstairs bathroom the shower screen was only fixed on at the top and was coming away from the wall at the bottom (not safe especially when trying to bath an infant). When cleaning downstairs I moved the rug in the living area to find a build of grit, dirt and hair that had been building up for a considerable amount of time. Then bin in the twin room upstairs had cotton wool pads still in it from the previous tenants. Facilities. In the kitchen the microwave did not work, on the "High" setting, the halogen grill came on instead, potentially very dangerous. The gas hob was very uneven with the hobs varying in output, we struggled to get a pot of pasta to boil. The washer dryer only washed even though when booking we only expected a washing machine. There is also an issues with a drain smell which would build up in the kitchen area overnight or during the day when we were not running water. Due to the issues with cleanliness both my wife and myself were uneasy about using the on site pool one of the reasons for booking. We did not want to expose our children to any infections from bathing in a unregulated pool. The cottage is potentially very nice however the owners have let the property down. I was looking for some form of compensation as I would not expect any issues with cleanliness, the fact that we had to clean the toilets on arrival is unforgivable on the owners behalf. The owner refused to accept any of the issues and was rude in here reply email to Sykes the letting agent which was read out to me over the phone.the letting agent which was read out to me over the phone.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. Her knowledge about the area was great and we loved the places she recommended we go and see. We are all very interested in the environment and wildlife. The property is situated in the perfect place for us to see an amazing amount of wildlife without leaving the grounds! We would most certainly be going back and would recommend the property to friends.
