Just arrived home from a wonderful stay at Rosemadden in Crantock. The house is perfectly situated in the heart of the village, just ten minutes walk from the beach, a few steps from the village shop and two minutes walk from the two pubs and the gorgeous Jam Jar Cafe and Restaurant. We had such a fabulous week and staying in a house that is so spacious and well equipped was the icing on the cake. We adored eating outside in the pretty little cottage garden and it was also a wonderful surprise to find a piano in the house when we arrived. With two Grade 8+ pianists in the family it made our time in the house even more special. Would highly recommend this wonderful holiday cottage.

What can I say about this beautiful home. When you see the house you just don’t realise the Tardis that’s inside. It’s a large wonderful home with a great atmosphere and is so well equipped. The kitchen/dining room is large and so is the sitting room. We loved it. The bedrooms are so nice and the beds are clean and comfy. I’m usually ready to get back to my own bed after two weeks but u could have stayed in this house. It made our holiday in lovely Crantock even more special.

The cottage was so unusual and despite being very spacious it still felt cosy.. It was truly a home from home and gave the kids room to breath and us all not be on top of each other. Being in the heart of Crantock was also the bonus for us. Highly recommend

Crantock is a beautiful village & to stay in Rosemaddon was perfect The house was ideal for a family & dog! Home from home with all the amenities expected - & top quality ones at that. Cleanliness & comfort in the house was second to none. Great to have car parking & private garden - great for a barbecue or a peaceful drink after a long day on the beach Location was superb - only 5 mins to walk to the beach or National Trust countryside I really shouldn’t give such a glowing report as we want to come back next year & don’t want it to be fully booked!!

We booked Rosemadden for the first week in June via Cornwall Holiday Cottages at a cost of £865 including the dog. Rosemaddon doesn’t look much from the outside but it’s deceptively spacious inside with a stunning wooden Minstrels Gallery over the living room and large kitchen diner to the back of the house. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The accommodation and the furnishings were all first class. Our only disappointment with the property was the smallness of the garden, as the photos on the website don’t really convey how tiny it really is. There is a nice paved area with garden furniture just off the kitchen but the lawned area is very, very small indeed. Although the garden lets it down a little, Rosemadden more than makes up for this shortfall by its location. It’s situated right in the centre of the picturesque village of Crantock where you have views over the tiny village green and easy access to the general stores which is only two doors along (expensive but handy). Rosemadden is within a hop skip and a jump from two pubs (the Old Albion Inn and the Cornishman) and two tearooms (the Cosy Nook and Hevlas Tea Gardens) so you’re be spoiled for choice on dining options. If you wish to venture further afield you can walk into West Pentire (one mile) and visit either C-Bay or the Bowgie Inn. Last but by no means least, Rosemadden is less than a ten minute walk to the stunning beach at Crantock Bay which is one of the most glorious beaches in the whole of North Cornwall. If you prefer a quieter beach you can always hike to Polly Joke Beach (also known as Porth Joke beach) in West Pentire, which is just over a mile from the property. We had a splendid holiday and hardly used the car at all after we arrived as the weather was so glorious we spent each day on or around the beach and then walked to one of the nearby pubs in the evening. Highly recommended.

The kitchen was extremely well equipped with lots of crockery and pans etc- one of the best equipped we've ever stayed in.. Beds were extremely comfortable, and all rooms had plenty of storage.

Just got back from a lovely stay in the cottage.. It had a real homely feel, lots of space and everything you needed for a relaxing stay. Beds were lovely and comfortable and the whole cottage was nice and warm during the cold nights. Garden was a bit on the small size but not a problem as we preferred to spend our days going on one of the many walks with the dogs. The beaches near by (Polly Joke, Crantock,Fistral) are all dog friendly and are some of the best in the UK. The 2 pubs in village are dog friendly, welcoming but found the food prices a bit on the steep side, the Bowgie Inn has beautiful views, good food but not dog friendly which is't a problem if the weathers nice. If you are looking for lovely accommodation with everything on your doorstep this cannot be beaten.

Another lovely week at Rosemadden in Crantock, superb walks with our dogs on the beach every day, some fishing on the estuary, fabulous day in St Ives with seals playing in the bay, retail therapy at Truro, inspiration at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and a lovely comfortable, clean cottage to return to ideally placed for the local shop (gorgeous bread and pasties) and great food at the Albion.. Already thinking when we can come back!

My husband, daughter and son-in-law , and I had a brilliant holiday at Rosemadden. From the minute we arrived we felt relaxed and very welcome. The beds are comfortable, the towels are large and soft , and there is plenty of seating. The kitchen /dinning area is spacious and has everything you need - including French doors out into the pretty garden - an " extra" being the bird that visited every morning for breakfast ! We ate at the Albion - very good food and service. The village has a useful shop and a lovely tearoom and gallery. Crantock beach is amazing and we would recommend going kayaking with Rob Small - I was nervous and he made sure I felt comfortable and enjoyed the experience. He also knows loads of facts about the area - we had a great time.

We stayed at Rosemadden in June 2010 with our daughter, husband and her two children. We had previously stayed at Cobb Barn which was lovely but needed a bigger property this time. Rosemadden is amazing from the moment we stepped into the entrance porch and went through into the galleried living room. The house was spotless, the furniture and fittings first class. We liked the fact that we had what was really our own self contained wing of the house and our daughter and her family had their own.

Great house that suited our family needs. Lovely kitchen with large table ideal of long lunches. We found the double height lounge cosy and bright, ideal study area for teenage sons on the mezzanine above. Decent sized bedrooms. Perfectly positioned for Crantock beach trips and only 20-30 min walk to Polly Joke.
