Had a great time, very comfy beds, comfy furniture/sofas etc, all good.. warm and no noise from train line nearby, only time you can hear them is outside and then it is quiet. Good WiFi, Off road parking no problem for one but honestly a little tight for 2 cars, although we managed. Nice outside space with a view. There are 5 places to get a beer/drink on foot, although the easiest to walk to is Chinley Bar & Lounge (formally and still the Conservative Club) this is a friendly and comfortable place to have a few drinks in. Would stay again.

This cottage was really cozy and relaxed during a difficult family bereavement .. Really close to the train station, lovely pubs (the paper mill inn was lovely). Would recommend anyone to stay here: Owner is also really really lovely.

Very good cottage, a cut above the average.. It was a nice touch to leave mince pies and bakewell tarts out for us on arrival and it was even decorated for Christmas! It had the usual thing of rooms looking bigger on the photos than they are, but they were still easily spacious enough. A decent pub and restaurant within walking distance at Whitehough as well.

We enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage, while visiting family in the area.. Had a lovely log fire on the Saturday which we all enjoyed, plenty of wood and kindle supplied that was good. Cutlery was for 4 people only (no spares) so when family came for dinner on the Saturday they had to bring extra, so please add more cutlery even for 4 people, don't want to keep washing up. Other than that lovely cottage

The cottage exceeded all expectations.. It was very well equipped and located for walking. The cottage was immaculate and lovely and warm. Kath is a great host, leaving milk and Bakewell tarts as a lovely touch. We will definitely be back as was brilliant value for money! xx

A lovely warm cosy cottage.. One minor drawback - the parking. One really needs to reverse into the property parking area and be wary when turning right leaving the property - cars seem to zoom along the road quite quickly!

What a nice cottage.. Very clean and a warm welcome with flowers, milk and tarts. We've enjoyed our stay. Great walks, lots to do in the neighbourhood. We even took the train (in walking distance from the cottage) to Manchester to visit the sights. It was high season, so very busy everywhere we went. Bakewell on a Sunny Sunday afternoon is not a good idea! We've enjoyed sitting outside and the Wifi was very good (important when you have a teenager). We can warmly recommend this cottage!

Rose Cottage was a charming, well stocked holiday cottage that had the feel of a home.. There were thoughtful touches such as a carton of milk, washing up liquid, loo roll and all the basics you need but often forget. It was also immaculate. As well as 4 delicious Bakewell tarts left for us to sample! It was a delightful little house.

Very clean cottage and the bedding was so luxurious .. very close to the road so quite noisy at night but we did have the windows open as it was a really hot week .

Beautiful cottage with everything provided that you could need whilst away.. The added bonus of off street parking for the car. We were able to chill out on the raised patio, especially as the weather was amazing. There were some lovely walks in the area, including poping to the village for the paper in the morning. There is a Morrison’s and an Aldi in chapel en Frith and a Tesco’s in Whaley bridge. All a ten minute drive away. Although we walked along the canal to the Tesco’s on one morning. We tried the chippy and the Cafe Bombay whilst there, both of which we enjoyed. A short drive to Lyme park and Buxton and the blue John stone caves. We were visiting relatives so was also a nice base for us. Very enjoyable 2 weeks stay.

Rose Cottage is simply beautiful and decorated to a high standard.. Very comfortable to return to after a day of sightseeing. The Chinley pub does not do food and the Cafe Bombay was superb. We have been to numerous cottages in the last 24 years and Rose Cottage is up there with some of the best we have seen and was very good value for money. The owner could easily charge at least £100 more going from our past experience. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Sometimes a cottage just has the feel of being a rental property - but with this cottage the owners have done an outstanding job in ensuring it has a warm, welcoming feel which makes an immediate impact in being able to relax and start to enjoy a holiday.. The décor and fittings are excellent - there is a real personality about the place. Comfortable beds ensured a great night's sleep, very welcome after a day ramping up and down the hills of the Peak District! Being able to park off-road is a huge benefit also. Many thanks to Kathy and Vinny for ensuring we had one of our best UK holidays

February 2018
The cottage is lovely, cosy and very clean.. Unfortunately there is not much TV reception in this area so there is not much choice of TV channels - not the fault of the cottage obviously, but it would be nice to have either access to smart TV, dvd/cd player maybe. The location is great and we walked to Chinley station and didn't need to use the car which was a real bonus. We look forward to visiting again.

A lovely cosy cottage with all necessary facilities.. Friendly and helpful owners. Parking for 2 cars. Great location for days out in the Peak District. Good pub within half a mile. Good Indian restaurant within a mile. Excellent chippy within walking distance, shame it only opens Thurs to Sat. We would certainly return.
