Area A lovely little village nestled in a wonderful rural setting, Chinley lies on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Families and those looking for easier roaming can venture west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills with the Torrs Riverside Park, a peaceful place for recreation and relaxation. Within just a short drive are the picture-perfect High Peak villages of Chapel-en-le-Frith, boasting a cobbled marketplace and historic old stocks, and Whaley Bridge, with its canal basin and a good range of local amenities. Just a little further is Castleton, with its famous caverns and Norman Castle, as well as the popular spa town of Buxton, with its fabulous Opera House and Victorian architecture and park.

We were due to stay 3 nights here but we cut our stay to 2 nights due to a combination of the weather deteriorating and the Covid19 virus uncertainty. But the cottage was a really clean and functional place,a tiny bit dated with some of the decor and furniture but it was ideal for our needs, which was to get away for a couple of nights with our dog Kevin and try and forget about the current situation.Chinley is a great base and the cottage was about a 15 minute walk to the shops and a bit further to the pubs. The cottage has some super views a large garden and is attached to the owners farmhouse property who are very helpful. It was very well priced and worth the money we paid.Pity about the weather and the virus,I wish the owners all the best for the future.

Lovely, clean and cosy cottage with amazing views.. Got lost a little as the satnav took us further than required. Found the farm but cottage was opposite to it. Directions could be improved in the instructions. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Close to amenities and pubs so no issue in stocking up the kitchen.
No complaints at all. Some suggestions would be to improve the wifi a bit. and for a personal touch, perhaps some milk and eggs from the farm in the fridge. Would love to stay here again.

This cottage was really lovely and homely.. Barbara, the owner, was very welcoming and was there if we needed her - we didn't. The cottage was easy to find and well situated for touring from there. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone thinking of going to the Peak District.

Excellent welcome and facilities.. Warm gas fired central heating plus back up electric fire if needed -it wasn't. Lovely large lounge plus all necessary kitchen appliances and lovely comfortable bedroom. Plenty of local walks for our retriever dog and friendly welcome at nearby pubs too. A great place to relax with additional comfortable garden furniture and great views.

The cottage was very good and had everything I needed .. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Lots of good walks within easy reach of the cottage. Castleton and Bakewell well worth a visit Both the pubs in the village served a very wide choice of hand pulled beers. Dogs are allowed in both. I had a very enjoyable holiday as did my dog.
