This accommodation is not worth 5 stars. The location, amaxing views from back and wonderful countryside are worthy but then things are not so good. This chalet is very small and a larger person or someone not very mobile may have a problem. The chalet itself measures approx 15ft x 15ft. The photo on Sykes shows large tv on wall in kitchen and 2 seater settee. When we arrived there was a 22inch tv on top of the microwave and 2 old and previously repaired chairs. The kitchen is listed as open plan. A space of 5ftx4ft 6"is designated for sitting area which comprised of 2 very uncomfortable swivel chairs. There was no room to swivel or to recline. The 22" tv was 14ft away. The chairs could not be moved forward as there is a door to bedroom one side and one opening into kitchen the other. One of the chairs couldn't see tv when door was open. Bedroom had comfortable bed but there was only 12" between wall and bed on 3 sides so if you are unable to do a side shuffle you would have to climb over the bed. No room to dress or undress no room for 2 people's clothes. Had to keep some clothes and toiletries in bags. No room for bags so they were on bed during day and on kitchen table and chairs at night. Very small en suite. The accommodation looks clean when you first enter but we found a number of areas not so good. We informed Sykes and proved our complaints with photos. Hopefully things will be better for the next tenants but lack of space and comfort may not be easily remedied.

We spent 3 nights at Rivers Nook and enjoyed every minute! Lovely chalet in beautiful surroundings. The New Inn pub is a 5 minute walk away , serving good ale and tasty food..We had our dog with us and both the chalet and the pub are dog friendly..I have no hesitation in recommending Rivers Nook..

Amazing location! So cozy and has everything you need. The view is magnificent and even better than the pictures. There is an enclosed garden and there is fencing so it was completely safe to let our dog out without worrying (unless your dog is used to jumping high, then you may need a longline as there are lots of birds and sheep with lambs nearby). He settled in straight away and really enjoyed the place too. There are two nice pubs 5 minutes walk away, and the people were so friendly and accommodating, which we appreciate when our cocker spaniel was a little excited by his new surroundings. I recommend the Red Ale in the New Inn! There is a lovely walking trail, through the Berwyn mountains just a little further up from the New Inn if you like, but the place is perfect just to relax as well. A nice drive out to Lake Vrnwy provides more beautiful views and the pheasants pottering about the place were lovely to watch. The local shop was a bit of a drive out through to another village if you are self catering, just as an FYI. We will definitely be back!

Just returned from a week at River's Nook - cannot recommend it highly enough. An escape from the day to day, perfect peaceful location and fabulous facilities! The cabin itself was spotless, well equipped and maintained. Ideal as well for us as we had our dog with us, and he settled in straight away too, and benefitted from a little garden at the side of the cabin which was totally enclosed. Free wifi, freeview television and an assortment of dvds, book, games - plus tea and coffee (even had some fresh milk left in the fridge for us, for our welcome). Lovely sitting out area with a fabulous view, which you still got the benefit when we came in at night when it got chilly due to the fabulous windows of the cabin. We really do hope to return and can't recommend highly enough.

We have just returned having spent a week at River's Nook.. What a lovely place! A warm welcome from Kevin the owner, including a quick phone call beforehand to check we had directions. The facilities of the cabin were fabulous, couldn't have wanted anything more! Little things like free tea and coffee, and even some fresh milk in the fridge for us to set us up for our arrival. We settled in straight away and what a bonus it was to have a little garden at the side of the cabin and all enclosed - perfect for us as we had our dog with us. The setting is bliss - babbling river, private outlook and all sorts of animals in the field across. The accommodation was spotless, had lots of information about the cabin itself and the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend and would love to return in the future!

A nice little chalet in a lovely little village.. Great food in the Tanat valley inn (highly recommended). Could benefit from some new cookware but we ate out so it didn't bother us. Owner Response: thank you for your comments. We will check on the cookware to see what needs replacing and have left a message for you asking for more information. We are glad you enjoyed your stay overall.
