Frequent travellers to rural UK and this is the first time we’ve had such an experience. Three issues: 1) latch on the door of the dryer was broken ... owner showed how she overcame that issue by placing a broom against the door. Owner was displeased that the washer and dryer were used when we were out and said that it was an insurance requirement that both equipment be operated when we were at the cottage. Now if that was really an “insurance requirement”, wouldn’t the broken door latch be more of a problem? 2) the “stop/start button” on instant electric shower unit didn’t work so the only way to shower was to pull the electric chord just outside the shower cubicle. Again it’s an accident waiting to happen. 3) numerous ants in the cottage. Owner didn’t provide a compost bin so food bags had to be placed in a regular bin.

We can thoroughly recommend staying at The Pheasant 2, the 2-bedroom apartment as pictured (Trip advisor seems to have it incorrectly labelled Pheasant 1 which is the adjoining 1 bedroom unit). Recently refurbished, it is fresh, clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Set on a farm just off the road, it is easy to access and has its own allocated parking space. The owners are welcoming, friendly and offer helpful advice about the local area. The beds are comfortable with good quality bedding and linen. The whole place is immaculately clean, well-organized and equipped with everything thing you need plus a few thoughtful extras. The location is excellent for visiting Monmouth, Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Tintern Abbey and Raglan Castle. There is a Nisa (Coop) store close by in Raglan, a Coop in Usk and a larger Morrisons in Abergavenny. We stayed here a week and hope to come back again as its convenient for a quick get away.

Lovely cottage.. Beautiful setting. Most of all have to praise the hosts Carmen and Gwillym. So friendly and approachable. Nothing too much trouble. We will definitely make a return visit. We had such a lovely relaxing and pleasant stay. The views from the windows were breath taking. The cottage was clean, modern and had everything needed including complimentary tea coffee sugar and milk. Also provided were thick, fluffy towels, quality bed linen, hairdryer along with TV Dvd (DVDs Also) WIFI, washer and dryer and fully equipped kitchen. Thank you so much to Carmen and Gwillym. We feel like we have made new friends that we look forward to seeing again very soon.

A lovely, cosy cottage with great views out the front to the Brecon Beacons.. The location is good for Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley - we enjoyed canoeing, castles and the market towns. Hosts Carmen and husband were the most friendly couple who made us feel extremely welcome. A particular highlight was when the hosts brought their tractor down to the cottage for our 4 year old son to sit in! We will be back. The pin on the location map is in the wrong place - we turned into the wrong farm. This cottage is right next to the turn for Llandenny.

We had a very pleasant week long stay at The Pheasant Two.. We were meet by owners, who were very welcoming, and gave us a tour of the property. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits were provided for our stay, plus some leaflets and information about local amenities. The owners were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was well equipped and comfortable, and was set in pleasant rural surroundings. and ideal spot exploring South Wales and within reach of the Brecon Beacons The pretty town of Usk was not far away, with a well stocked small supermarket and free parking. Would recommend this property.
