Area
This charming beach resort, which is only 5 miles from Porthmadog, is frequently referred to as the "Pearl of Wales on the coasts of Snowdonia." The town's 13th-century castle, which dominates the skyline and provides spectacular views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains, is perched majestically on a rocky outcrop in the middle of the town. The two beaches will thrill fans of water sports, while the proximity to the stunning Snowdonia National Park provides a wealth of options for hikers and bikers. Take a leisurely stroll along the beaches, observe porpoises playing in the surf, or unwind in one of the many taverns, restaurants, or tea rooms while enjoying some of the renowned Cadwalader's ice cream. Other nearby attractions include the gorgeous Italianate gardens at Portmeirion, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle, and the Llyn Peninsula's world-class beaches and golf facilities.
