Mr Cooper, September 2020

This was our third or fourth stay at this lovely cottage.. We had a small problem with the toilet, but this was sorted out almost instantly.

Excellent location, the cottage had all we needed and we appreciated the extra .... Excellent location, the cottage had all we needed and we appreciated the extra cleaning and safeguards during the current situation

The cottage wasn’t clean at all when we arrived.. There isn’t a washing machine, which we found extremely surprising for a cottage marketed for up to 5 people. There was no internet, despite this being advertised. No bathroom lights either. And the noisiest sofa to sit on in the world.
Mr Castell, September 2020
August 2020
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting.. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Nearby beaches all swimming friendly and we particularly liked Trearddur Bay for the beach, cafes and eating out. A washing machine at the cottage would have been the icing on the cake in terms of facilities but otherwise we had everything we needed. Lovely spot all round, we very much enjoyed our week away in Anglesey. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage.. We were warm and comfortable with everything we needed at hand. Sky TV plus another TV in the upstairs bedroom and good WiFi connection- quite important to us while we waited for the wind and rain to stop! Holy island itself has a wonderful coastline - the nearest beach ,only two minutes walk. We hope to return soon. Thank you Allen and Diane Kay

Fabulous location however photos a bit misleading as couldn't actually see the beach from the property, only 2 mins walk though.. Really good base for exploring the area, lots of great walks and spectacular scenery.

We have just returned from spending Christmas at this wonderful cottage.. We (mainly our children!) were pleasantly surprised to find it had been decorated with a lovely tree and other bits to make it feel Christmassy. The cottage itself is very cosy, tastefully decorated and well equipped which made our stay comfortable. It’s in a great location with the beach literally a stones through from the door. We would definitely go back in the summer months to make use of the beach and explore more of the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.. The cottage was clean, comfortable, very well-equipped and in a wonderful location. New Year's on the beach - amazing!

A note for the owners, the double bed on the ground floor is uncomfortable and very noisy.. Other than that the cottage was lovely.

The cottage is ideally located a short walk up from the beach, and within a short drive of Holyhead's amenities.. It is a very peaceful spot with fabulous views, and there are many places to visit within a 30 minute drive. We would recommend a walk around South Stack, the Maritime Museum in Holyhead, Beaumaris, the hidden garden Plas Cadnant near Menai Bridge, and a little distance beyond is Caernarfon and of course Snowdon. Y Lleiaf is beautifully furnished and we had much cottage envy. The room upstairs is set up for youngsters, and whilst there is a decent sized chest of drawers, there is nowhere to hang clothes, due to the restriction of the eaves. And anyone taller than 5' will need to mind the beam at the top of the stairs! The kitchen had everything we needed. It was great that the basics were available - tea towels, salt & pepper, dishwasher tablets, the sort of thing you could do without having to bring along. Plenty of pots, pans, crockery & utensils. The only thing we didn't have was a lid for the casserole dish, but we worked around it. The sandy beach is a hub of activity for canoes, kayaks and coasteering groups. That's not to say the beach is too busy to enjoy - it is a beautiful spot, a real sun trap, and there is a mobile catering van offering hot drinks and snacks most days run by very friendly people. There is a sign at the top of the steps saying "No dogs" but this is blatantly ignored, which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your own opinion. We would definitely stay again if we were out that way another time.

What a lovely little cottage in a perfect location! The cottage itself was super cute and it actually felt like we were staying in a friend’s place rather than a holiday let. You can tell the cottage is well loved and used by its owners. I loved the happy feel to it, with family photos on the wall and the beach style decor. There were lots of extras for us to use too, such as beach chairs, windbreak, kids scooters etc. A real beach home from home. The location was stunning and literally a minutes walk from Porth Dafarch beach, which we nicknamed ‘our cove’. We were lucky with the weather so my children had a great time snorkelling and kayaking there. Trearddur beach is only a couple of miles up the road, and is lovely. We had a nice meal in ‘The Black seal’ restaurant right on the beach. Rhosneigr beach, again very close by, and has a Newquay type feel to the place. Just beautiful. I would highly recommend a trip on the rib ride boat on the Menai Straits. Only again a short drive from the cottage. Perfect stay, thank you

A single nit-pick----the dustbins are too far from the kitchen..

A perfect place in the winter months to get away from it all and just soak up the landscape, wildlife and then come back to the cottage, sit by the fire and relax..
Mr Sweeney, March 2019

We had a lovely time away, the cottage was right next to the beach which my little girl loved! The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Nikki the owner was very helpful before and during our stay. 5 stars!

Very cute little cottage, amazing location a 2 minute walk to the beach and coastal path.. We had such a relaxing time, would love to go back in the summer. The photos do not do this property justice at all
Mrs Cartwright, December 2018
December 2018
Y Lleiaf was a comfortable and cosy cottage.. The cottage had some outstanding views from the doorstep. Porth Dafarch beach is a minutes walk down the hill with a coastal paths which we really enjoyed. Thank you
Miss O'callaghan, January 2019
December 2018
We have just spent a magical Christmas at Y Lleiaf.. Not only was the cottage cosy, comfortable and exactly as it is the photos, it was subtly decorated for Christmas when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped which made making Christmas dinner a breeze. The log burner kept us cosy and sky tv was a great bonus when we’d had enough of family games. The location was perfect for coastal walks and the kids loved the beach at the bottom of the hill.
Miss Johnson, December 2018
October 2018
Perfect week, beautiful cottage with beautiful views , can’t wait to go back
Mrs Burke, October 2018
September 2018
Really nice cottage.. Generally well equipped although we would have preferred a washing machine to a dishwasher, and bizarrely, there were no table mats. The owner is incredibly helpful and confirmed the absence of table mats. Almost felt like buying him some! Scenery is to die for and supermarkets and restaurants are an easy short drive away. Thoroughly recommended.
Smith, September 2018

The cottage is superb.. Parking (and turning the car around) was not as easy as last year, but not a real problem.
Mrs Mitchell, July 2018
July 2018
Mr Castell, August 2018
July 2018
We stayed at Y Lleiaf for a week.. It was spotlessly clean & beautifully decorated. The cottage was well equipped & comfortable. The location was fantastic with great views of the coastline & only 1 minute walk to the lovely Porth Dafarch beach. Trearddur Bay is a short drive away, has a beautiful beach & some lovely places to eat (we loved the Sea Shanty Cafe). Thank you for a great week!
Mr Harrison, June 2018
June 2018
This is a gorgeous cottage in an idillic location.. We have just spent a long weekend with our three young grandchildren and enjoyed every minute- it wasn't long enough! The cottage is equipped with everything you could think of, and more, all immaculately clean. The children particularly enjoyed a toybox of toys far more than those we had taken! Interior design is beautiful with sea-side themed accessories-very tasteful. We were lucky with the weather, it was glorious and so we didnt venture beyond the little cove (Porth Dafarch) just a two minute walk away and the nearby Trearddur beach a five minute drive away. Both lovely beaches but especially Trearddur Bay which was nicely busy but not overcrowded. A long stretch of clean yellow sand, perfect for sand-castles, paddling and sand-in-your-sandwiches picnics! The perfect type of simple old- fashioned holiday experiences that memories are made from! This cottage is by far the best holiday accomodation we have stayed in- we take the grand-children away at least twice a year so have had lots of experience from centre parcs to cottages to lodges. Would we recommend? Definately! Will we return? Yes, maybe off peak without the grandchildren so that we can explore the beautiful area and light the woodburning stove!

April 2018
Y Lleiaf is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location with gorgeous views of the Anglesey headland.. The cottage is really well equipped throughout and very comfortable, the log burner being a particular highlight! We enjoyed having the coastal footpath on our doorstep and the highlight was my birthday picnic tea on the beach across the road in the evening sunshine. 10/10 for both the cottage and its location on Anglesey - we will definitely be back and would highly recommend it.
Mrs Bedford, April 2018
February 2018
Facilities in the cottage were great, you had everything you needed, but the general decoration both inside and out was in need of redoing, window seals were blown and the windows needed a clean.. The dining suite was painted white and covered in dirty finger marks which didn't wipe off, it was ground in. Not sure if the owners were aware but one of the parking spaces was taken by a skip full of rubbish which made manoeuvring and parking a little difficult, also the skip was the first thing you saw through the lounge window rather than the view! We were a little disappointed with the cottage but nothing a really deep clean, lick of paint inside and out and removal of the skip wouldn't rectify.
Mrs Parkin, February 2018

Only issue was the heating controls

Had a great time, a warm and well equipped cottage.. Easy walk to the beach plus supermarket / restaurants not far away. Only issue was the stairs up to the loft room - care needed for small children / adults.

Didn't go for the weather at this time of year but the location did not let us down.. Plenty of lovely walks then back to a cosy cottage with the log burner going just what you need for a few days to get away from the real world! Would stay again and have already recommended to friends and family!
