Sprawl out on the lawn, swim laps in the private pool, or soak in the hot tub – this backyard exudes relaxation. You cat eat out here too, with a cutting-edge outdoor kitchen that includes a grill and plenty of prep space. Inside, the large open-plan kitchen comes with an island and separate breakfast bar – your resident chef's happy place. Polished cement floors and ever so sleek monochrome touches give the living area a classy, sophisticated feel, helped by the beaming sun through floor-to-ceiling windows – a sophistication that continues into the bedrooms. The luxurious bathrooms are particularly stylish, and the deep freestanding bathtub is the perfect place to end sunny Palm Springs days. You won't need to (or want to) leave this home, but if you do, head to the unique landscapes at nearby Joshua Tree National Park for desert hikes and total tranquility.

* If you want complete privacy, this may not be the home for you – as you can see into neighbouring yards
* This part of town gets windy in spring and autumn, and there are no wind breaks installed on the property
* There is parking for up to six cars on the driveway
